Alexandria Crespin is a junior basketball player for the Lady Warriors.

Do you play any other sports?

Right now I’m doing golf and I do soccer.

What’s your favorite of the three?

Probably basketball.

Why?

I’ve just played it forever, since I was really young. It has always been one of my favorite sports.

What got you into it?

Probably my parents. When I was younger they put us into sports.

What is your favorite part of the game?

The physicality.

What year are you in?

I’m a junior.

Are you looking forward to anything in your senior year?

No, I just don’t want it to come.

Were there any highlights in this basketball season for you?

Probably the West Las Vegas game, the first round of state. It was a really close game and we all came together and pulled the dub—got the win.

What would you tell younger players who join the team?

Keep your head up. It’s a hard sport, especially if you’re barely starting, but you’ll get it.

What do you think the hardest part of basketball is to master?

Probably dribbling. You have to be able to look at the court while dribbling the ball at the same time and learn how to use both hands and do all these different moves.

Do you normally play more offensively or more defensively? What’s your strong suit?

Probably defense. I feel like I’m always hustling and I’m a pretty good defensive player.

What’s it like to switch gears to the golf season?

It’s kind of different being outside now and the practices are so much different. The whole sport’s different.

Are there any famous athletes you look up to?

Probably Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. They show great work ethic and they’re always motivated.

How do you stay in shape for basketball during the offseason?

During the offseason there’ll be practices, like during the summer there’ll be practices sometimes and then I start working on soccer.

Is there anything you want to say to your teammates?

I really enjoyed this season with them and I’m glad that I got to play with all the seniors and finish out the season with all of them.
