Atochita M. Chavez

1934-2021

Atochita M. Chavez, aged 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 1, 2021. Atochita was born on November 29, 1934 in San Pedro, N.M. to Felilpe and Rosita (Estrada) Sanchez.

She is preceeded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years Benito Chavez (2018) and brother Carlos Sanchez. She is survived by her children Albin (Debbie) Chavez, Rita (Pete) Moore, LouDell (Victor) Campos and Veronica (Henry) Saavedra, her sisters Dora Martinez, Aurora Garza, Elena Boatwright, many grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Atochita was beloved and will be missed by many, especially by her sister-in-law Andrea McIntire, who called her every Sunday.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 13, at La Sagrada Familia Catholic cemetery in Lemitar, N.M.
