As of Monday, there have been a total of 4,340 COVID-19 cases reported in Socorro County since the pandemic began, with 4,240 recovering.

The latest data released by the Center for Disease Control showed that the number of new

COVID-19 cases in Socorro County for the seven-day period ending August 25 was 28.

There was one new hospital admission reported in Socorro County in the seven-day period and no new deaths.

In Socorro County, 95 people have died from the novel coronavirus.

There were 216 tests conducted in the county over the seven-day period. Socorro County’s positivity rate stood at 18.42 percent as of August 23.

According to the CDC website, 11,670 people in Socorro County are fully vaccinated, which is 79.8 percent of the county’s population. 54 percent have received at least one booster.

In the 65-and-older age group, 85 percent have completed the two-dose series, and 72.2 percent have received at least one booster.

Statewide, 82.7 percent of New Mexicans 18-and-over have completed the initial two-dose series, with 55.8 percent receiving a booster.

The seven-day positivity rate statewide is 15-19.9 percent.

Fifty-two New Mexicans died from the coronavirus in the last seven days and the death toll since the pandemic began has reached 8,399.

Current hospitalizations statewide total 126, with 12 patients on ventilators.

The latest 7-day metric shows 3,820 new cases statewide.

Total cases in New Mexico are 609,204 since the pandemic began.
