June 13

An officer was dispatched at 2:54 a.m. to a residence in the 1200 block of Chaparral for a domestic. The female victim said her intoxicated boyfriend woke her up by yelling at her. She said he punched her in the back of the head and was holding her mouth. The suspect was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on a charge of domestic violence- battery, aggravated.

An officer was dispatched at 7:13 a.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Fitch to take a larceny report. The homeowner said two chairs were taken from his residence and the officer was shown a video of the incident. The officer was later notified of the chairs being taken back to the owner.

An officer was called at 8:15 a.m. back to the Socorro Police Department for a male who said his daughter is missing. He said he has not seen his daughter in three weeks and would like to locate his daughter and make sure she is OK.

An officer was dispatched at 6:05 p.m. to a residence in the 1200 block of Santa Fe Lane for a theft report. A male told the officer he left his drill on his back deck and when he returned to use it, the drill was missing.

An officer was dispatched at 11:09 p.m. to a residence in the 1200 block of Santa Fe Lane for a fight. The officer separated two males engaged in an argument. One male was placed in the rear of a unit. The officer spoke with the victim who said his brother had pulled a gun on him. He said the suspect was hooking up with the neighbor who is a swinger, even though he has a wife and kids. An argument started and the suspect pulled a gun. The victim said he took the gun from the suspect and threw it. A fight started and police arrived. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and negligent use of a deadly weapon and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

June 14

An officer was called at 9:09 a.m. to Sierre Bonita in reference to a stolen bike. While en route, dispatch advised that the reporting person is following the female that took the bike. Officer arrived and met with the reporting person who stated he lost the female in the area. The officer checked the area and located a female matching the description. She said she left the bike at a different residence and took the officer to the bike. The female was issued a citation and released, and the bike was returned to the owner.

An officer was called at 9:12 a.m. to the 700 block of Bagley for a dog bite. The victim stated he was walking when he was attacked by two dogs. He was bitten by one dog but not the other. The officer was able to contact the owner who was issued citations. The offer took possession of the dog for quarantine.

A female victim came to the Socorro Police Department at 10:44 a.m. to report that someone had opened an account in her name. The officer told her a report would be made on the incident.

An officer was dispatched at 4:20 p.m. to Economy Inn on a missing juvenile report. The officer met with the juvenile, who was run through NCIC which showed she was missing out of Bernalillo. The officer was advised by the juvenile that she had moved to Socorro with her mother. The officer was able to contact the juvenile’s mother who stated her daughter was going through a program to get her own apartment. Officer called CYFD and did an intake on the incident.

An officer was dispatched at 5:11 p.m. to Economy Inn on a theft report. The officer met with a female who said her wallet was taken by a friend who was staying with her. She said her identification and Social Security card were in said wallet. A charge of larceny was filed against the suspect.

An officer was called at 11:30 p.m. to the 400 block of Bullock in reference to a burglary. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated she had been out of town and when she returned, she noticed multiple items missing from inside her residence.

An officer responded to a robbery at a residence in the 500 block of Bagley. The victim advised the officer of a male coming to his residence and asking to borrow some money. When he refused the suspect hit him with a flashlight and took money from a bar in the residence. The suspect was charged with Robbery (With a deadly weapon, 1st offense).

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Silva for a burglary. The officer met with a female who said a male was in her residence and not allowed to be there. The officer arrested the male and he was charged with burglary and was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

June 15

An officer was called to Walmart where a female shoplifter was seen leaving the store. The officer arrived in the area and located the suspect female. She was escorted back to the store where she was searched, and the stolen items were located. She was trespassed from the store and issued a citation for shoplifting.

An officer was dispatched at 9:30 p.m. to a residence in the 500 block of Manzanares to speak with a female, the grandmother of a child. The grandmother told the officer her grandchild had been transported to the hospital for a possible drug overdose, and she was subsequently transported to Albuquerque. She said the mother was trying to clean her room out before running from the residence before the officer arrived. The officer served a warrant on the residence and located a fentanyl pill in the mother’s room. The officer later was notified the child had passed. The officer located the mother a short time later and questioned her and she was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center. The officer got results from the child’s autopsy which said the child had a lethal dose of drugs in their system. The mother was charged with reckless abuse of a child (results in death)(F1), abandonment of a child (death or great bodily harm)(F2), possession of a controlled substance (felony), and tampering with evidence (highest crime a capital, first or second degree felony).

June 16

An officer was called at 10:02 a.m. to the 1400 block of El Camino Real on a battery report. The reporting person stated she got into an argument with her father, and during the argument, he struck her on the side of the head with a closed fist. The officer met with the father who denied it. A witness who was present also stated father did not strike her.

An officer was called to the 700 block of California in reference to child custody. The reporting person stated he was supposed to pick up his children today, but the other party wasn’t there. The officer contacted the other party who stated the reporting party did not pick up the children a week ago on the scheduled date.

An officer was called to Yo Mama’s Grill on a reported theft. The victim stated she noticed a board on the patio area to be broken and a heater missing. No suspect at time of report.

An officer was called to the Socorro Police Department to meet with a female in the lobby. The officer met with the victim who stated she received multiple letters from banks about accounts attempted to be opened in her name. She stated she has received two letters with debit cards in them, but she has not activated the accounts. The victim stated she closed the accounts.

An officer was patrolling when he noticed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction at California and Manzanares. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver stopped, but then fled. The supervisor on duty canceled the pursuit. Dispatch advised the officer the vehicle came back stolen out of Albuquerque. The officer was off duty when he noticed the same vehicle traveling north on Interstate 25 and notified law enforcement for that jurisdiction. The vehicle was stopped after a short pursuit by a separate agency. The officer was able to identify the driver.

June 17

An officer was dispatched at 9:09 a.m. to a residence in the 400 block of Terry for breaking and entering. The officer arrived and noticed a male climbing out of a window of the residence. The male was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on the breaking and entering charge.

An officer was dispatched at 10:59 a.m. to the 600 block of Grant for a stolen four-wheeler. The officer met with a female who said a green four-wheeler was taken from her yard. She said she was shown a video of the incident and saw a male in the video load the four-wheeler into the back of a truck. The suspect was identified and charged with unlawful taking of a vehicle.

An officer was dispatched at 1:30 p.m. to the Socorro Public Health Office where the reporting party said they wanted a female, who was being uncooperative, trespassed. The officer met with the suspect and advised her not to return to the business.

An officer was dispatched at 6:17 p.m. to take a report at Walmart. The officer met with a male who said a backpack was taken from his vehicle while he was inside the store. The officer viewed the video and saw no one entering the vehicle while the reporting party said he was in the store.

June 18

An officer was dispatched at 5:53 a.m. for a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Willow. The officer stopped the vehicle after a traffic infraction and met with three juveniles. One juvenile was intoxicated. The officer had all three juveniles call their parents who came for them. One male juvenile was transported to Socorro General Hospital for a mental evaluation after making comments about self-harm.

An officer was called at 9:23 a.m. to the 200 block of Willow on a domestic report. The officer met with the victim who stated her husband and she were involved in an argument when he began to damage property in the residence. She stated she wanted to leave but was unable to due to the suspect slashing her tires. He left when she called 911. Officers were called back to the scene by EMS later in the day due to the suspect cutting himself and being armed with firearms when EMS arrived. The victim stated the suspect had called her brother and told him not to call the cops because there would be a shootout if he did. She said the suspect destroyed the residence. The officer confiscated multiple firearms from the residence. The suspect was charged with injuring or tampering with a motor vehicle, and criminal damage to property household member; deprivation of property of household member.

An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle that had crashed into a fence at Sean and Lopezville. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was caught and arrested. The driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident; and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, and was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.
