The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

Feb. 1

An officer was called at 6:36 p.m. to the 1200 block of El Camino Real for a stolen vehicle. While the officer was en route, dispatch advised that the victim was now at a different location and requested the officer to meet her there. The officer located the stolen vehicle and met with the victim who stated her boyfriend was told not to take the vehicle but took it anyway. A tow truck was called for the vehicle but was unable to tow it due to the position it was parked. The victim spoke with the homeowner where the vehicle was parked and got permission to leave the vehicle there.

An officer was called to an apartment on Walkway in reference to a Child Protective Services alert. The officer was checking on two females who possibly resided in the apartment with domestic violence incidents while children are present. The officer was unable to contact the parties.

An officer was provided with a phone number for a male who wanted to report harassment. The officer contacted the reporting person, who stated he received a threatening phone call from his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. The reporting person stated he would like the phone call documented.

Feb. 2

An officer was called to a residence in the 400 block of Bullock Blvd. in reference to a Child Protective Services alert. The officer met with the parents of the children and explained the reason they were there. The parents allowed officers into the residence. The officer checked the residence, and the children were OK with adequate living conditions.

An officer was called at 8:19 p.m. to remove a male from a residence in the 500 block of Reservoir Road. The officer arrived and removed him from the property. The officer was called back a short time later to remove the male again. The officer arrived and saw that the male had lit a pile of trash on fire. When he saw the police coming, he began to run off. The officer was able to take the male into custody after a short foot chase. He was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where he was booked on the charges of criminal trespass/not posted, improper handling of fire, and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Feb. 3

An officer was called at 9:54 p.m. to the Plaza in reference to things being stolen out of a vehicle. The officer met with the victims, who stated they had only arrived a short time ago and thought they had locked the car doors. When they returned, they noticed multiple items had been removed. The victims were able to get GPS locations for some of their stolen items. The officer checked the locations but was unable to locate the stolen property.

Feb. 4

An officer was called to a residence in the 200 block of College Avenue on a theft report. The officer met with the victim, who said he is missing items from his property but was unsure when the items were taken.

An officer was called at 3:50 p.m. to the 600 block of Lucero in reference to a report of a male attempting to attack his mother. When the officer arrived, the victim was attempting to get out of her residence through a small window. The officer located the suspect inside the home and noticed the victim’s door had been barricaded to protect herself from the suspect. The victim also stated the suspect was damaging her property. The suspect was arrested and transported to SCDC where he was booked on his charges.

An officer was called to the 100 block of McCutcheon Ave. for a vandalism incident. The officer met with the victim, who stated her vehicle was damaged by her ex-boyfriend. She said she was dropping off her son when the suspect got upset and punched her window, breaking it. The victim stated she then got upset and threw a rock, breaking the suspect’s window. The officer met with the suspect, who admitted to breaking the victim’s window. Neither party wanted to press charges.

Feb. 5

An officer was dispatched at 4:32 a.m. to Circle K for a damage to property call. The reporting person stated he was outside retrieving items from the business’s storage unit. He re-entered the store and locked the door behind him due to the store being closed. The suspect walked up to the door and was upset the store was closed and kicked the bottom of the door breaking the glass. The reporting person stated the suspect left the area.

An officer was dispatched at 7:04 p.m. to Holiday Inn Express for a trespasser on the property. The manager said she had been having problems with a female. She advised the officer of the female laying in the hallway and on the furniture, and she now had been in the restroom for several minutes. The officer announced and she was taken out of the restroom. She was placed into handcuffs and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was conducting a patrol in the 500 block of Highway 85 and met with two males, both of whom had been trespassed from the location. A check with NCIC showed both had valid warrants for their arrest. The officer also looked inside and found another male who had a valid warrant. He was also arrested. One of the males was found with narcotics in their possession. All three were incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

Feb. 6

An officer was called at 8:23 a.m. to the 1100 block of Chaparral where a female was being harassed by her landlord. The officer met with the landlord, who stated a tenant had a verbal agreement to move out of his rental by the 5th of February, but she still hasn’t left. The officer met with the tenant who said she gave the landlord a 30-day notice on January 19 and would be out by February 19.

An officer was called at 11:40 a.m. to meet with a female at the Socorro Police Department. The female wanted to report that her driver’s license has been missing for approximately one week, and she wanted to report it missing.

Feb. 7

An officer met with a female in the 500 block of Buena Vista who wanted to report that her cousin was yelling at her to get out of the road and then flipping her off.

An officer conducted a traffic stop at 7:48 p.m. and met with the driver in the Dollar Tree parking lot. During the stop, the driver told the officer she might have a warrant for her arrest. She was run through dispatch, which confirmed the warrant, and she was placed under arrest and later incarcerated at the SCDC.

An officer was called at 12:11 p.m. to a business in the Gabaldon Plaza on N. California in reference to an unwanted person on the property. The officer met with the victim, who stated she was feeling threatened. The officer located the suspect, who said he was upset when he was refused service, but he never made any threats. He was charged with assault.

An officer was called at 2:53 p.m. to a residence in the 400 block of Bullock Blvd. The officer met with the reporting person, who stated he did not feel safe with his wife being so close to his children because she was hallucinating and accusing him of poisoning her. The officer was unable to locate the female due to her leaving prior to his arrival.

Feb. 8

An officer was called at 6:54 p.m. to Walmart on a possible shoplifting. The officer arrived and was informed that the suspect was in a vehicle in the parking lot. The officer met with the reporting person, who stated the suspect entered the store and stuffed her purse with merchandise. The officer met with the suspect who had merchandise in her purse. She was issued a non-traffic citation and released. The merchandise was returned to the store.

An officer was called at 5:58 p.m. to the 100 block of Meek Street where a gun had been reported stolen. The victim said the firearm was stolen out of his vehicle. He provided the officer with the make, model and serial number of the firearm.

An officer was patrolling at 12:10 a.m. and noticed a vehicle on Park Street that was possibly involved in a call from earlier in the day. The officer performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed the passenger was someone who had an active warrant for his arrest. The officer had the passenger exit the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. The driver was also someone believed to have an active warrant for his arrest. The driver was patted down for weapons, and narcotics were located on his person. Both males were placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where they were booked.

An officer was patrolling at 9:36 p.m. and noticed a vehicle parked at J&C Carwash on Highway 85 where the owner had advised officers that loitering was not allowed on the property. The officer met the driver and passenger. The officer had knowledge of a pending report concerning the passenger making a domestic violence report against the driver.

An officer was called at 10:08 a.m. to John Brooks in reference to a shoplifter. The officer met with the reporting person, who stated he observed the suspect shoplift merchandise and then found him in the parking lot eating the merchandise. The reporting person said he has already trespassed the male from the property before and would like to press charges. The suspect was removed from the store.

An officer was called to Socorro General Hospital in reference to a theft. The officer met with the victim who stated she had exchanged her son with her ex-husband. She said at the time of the exchange her son had a tablet in his backpack, and when he returned, the tablet was not there. The victim’s son stated he observed his father take the tablet out of his backpack.

An officer was called to a residence on Quigg Street in reference to a theft. The officer met with the victim, who said she had medication stolen in December. The victim said she was advised to make a report to get the medication replaced.

An officer was called to a residence in the 800 block of Sixth Street in reference to a harassment complaint. The reporting person stated he was outside when the neighbors began harassing his dogs. He said the neighbors kicked the fence where the dogs were. The officer met with the neighbors who stated they were upset with the reporting person’s dogs due to them getting out and getting into their yard and always barking.

Feb. 9

An officer was called to a residence in the 500 block of Fitch for the theft of a trailer. The victim said her trash trailer was taken off of her property sometime over the last two days. She provided the officer with the trailer’s information and it was entered into NCIC as stolen.
