The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

July 18

Officer was called at 6:59 p.m. to Stallion Circle in reference to harassment. The officer met with the victim who stated she had begun speaking with a male through a gaming app and it had turned into an online relationship. She said she is in the process of stopping the relationship, but the male continues to contact her, even after blocking him. The victim said he told her he found out the address of her mother.

An officer was called to a residence on Mineral Way for a breaking and entering. The officer met with the victim who stated his vehicle was broken into the night before and found that several of his possessions were missing. The victim was brought in later to identify items that had been recovered.

An officer was called at 3:22 a.m. to the 900 block of Walkway where a male was seen breaking into vehicles. The officer was advised the male left running from the area. The suspect was located and while he was being detained the officer located a backpack containing property belonging to the victim. The officer met with the reporting person who stated she noticed the male breaking into a vehicle belonging to the victim. The officer checked the vehicle and noticed the window to be forced down. Officer was unable to make contact with the victim at the time of the report. The suspect was charged with Burglary, Larceny, and Criminal damage to property.

Ab officer was dispatched to meet with a male who said his boyfriend had become upset over a missing radio. An argument started and when the victim tried to leave the suspect placed a hand on him not allowing him to leave. The male victim did not want to pursue charges.

An officer was dispatched at 12:13 p.m. to Economy Inn for a larceny. The officer met with the manager who said an unknown male took monies from the register. The officer was advised that there was a security camera video but the owner of the business was not in town. The officer is waiting for a video of the incident at time of report.

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Fatima Road for a gunshot. The officer met with a female who had a gunshot wound on the right side of her neck. The officer applied pressure until EMTs arrived. The officer questioned the female’s boyfriend who said she was suicidal. The officer spoke with the female who said she did not mean to shoot herself. EMTs arrived and transported her to Socorro General Hospital. Guns from the residence were taken into safekeeping.

July 19

An officer stopped a vehicle at 12:26 a.m. for a traffic infraction on Mt. Carmel. As the officer was exiting the unit, the vehicle fled. A short time later, the officer located the vehicle, which was unoccupied. It had been reported stolen out of Albuquerque and the officer had it towed.

An officer met with a female at 3:54 a.m. on West Place who had a foil in her hand. She was asked what was in the foil and she gave the foil to the officer who observed fentanyl on it. The female was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was dispatched at 8:10 a.m. to an apartment at Vista Montano for a battery. The female victim told the officer she was battered by her daughter, who had already left the area. The officer filed charges of Battery and Assault on the daughter.

An officer responded at 11:05 a.m. to a residence in the 500 block of Bagley Avenue for a breaking and entering. The suspect was charged with Larceny and Criminal damage to property, as well as Breaking and entering.

An officer received a call for service at 12:29 p.m. to a residence in the 400 block of School of Mines for a trespasser on the property. The officer met with a male who stated a woman had jumped over their fence onto their property to retrieve her purse that her son had thrown over. The male does not want her on the property again. The officer made contact with the female and told her she was not allowed on the property any longer.

July 20

An officer was dispatched at 8:27 p.m. to the Walmart parking lot where a victim reported someone breaking out his car window. He said nothing was missing from his vehicle and a report was made.

An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of Butterfly where a female victim reported her vehicle broken into. She said her purse which contained several insurance cards and $1,000 in cash was taken from the vehicle.

An officer was dispatched at 11:10 a.m. to the 400 block of Tornillo for a dispute where the victim said his neighbor was threatening his animals. The officer walked next door to speak with the suspect who agreed to not harm the animals. As the officer was speaking with the victim the suspect drove by and yelled a threat at the victim. When the officer tried to perform a traffic stop on the suspect she fled from the officer and stopped at the State Police office. The suspect was arrested on the charges of Resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, Stop/Yield Sign Violations, and Driving while license suspended or revoked, and was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was dispatched at 1:26 p.m. to a residence in the 900 block of Reservoir for a break-in. The victim showed the officer damage to the front door of the residence. The victim said whoever it was, stole her PS4. The officer confirmed the damage to the door.

July 21

An officer was dispatched at 7:33 p.m. to a residence in the 300 block of Mt. Carmel for a male who was shot by a BB gun. A female at the scene said she was outside with her husband when someone in a car shot at them with a BB gun. The husband got into his vehicle looking for the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle returned, again shooting at the residence. The officer did not locate the vehicle at time of report.

An officer was dispatched at 10:29 a.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Alta Vista for a breaking and entering. The victim said he arrived home and noticed several items missing. The officer did see a window in the residence that had been broken. The officer was advised by the victim that he would need time to get a list of all missing items.

An officer was called to the Socorro Police Department where a male with a warrant wanted to turn himself in. He was transported to SCDC and booked on his warrant.

July 22

An officer was called to Socorro General Hospital to meet with a female. She told the officer she was sleeping with her boyfriend and was awakened by her boyfriend punching her. She said she called EMTs to check on her but was too scared to call the police. The boyfriend was charged with Battery against a household member, and Criminal damage to property of a household member; deprivation of property of a household member.

An officer was advised at 2:34 p.m. of possible drug activity in a dirt lot on Mariposa Street. At the scene the officer net with a male who claimed he got his work truck stuck. The officer ran the plate on the vehicle and it came back stolen. The male was arrested and a search turned up two fentanyl pills in his pocket. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on the charges of Receiving/Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Possession of a controlled substance.

An officer was dispatched at 8:52 a.m. to a residence in the 1000 block of Cuba Road for an unresponsive male. The officer met with a female who said her husband was unresponsive. The officer did not find a pulse on the male. EMTs arrived and confirmed he was deceased. The officer waited for OMI and shortly after Daniels Funeral Home took possession of the body. No signs of foul play.

An officer was dispatched at 9:52 p.m. to a residence in the 200 block of Second Street on a stalking report. The officer met with a female who said her neighbor was coming onto her property and shining a flashlight on her. She advised the officer of several court cases for harassment against the male. The officer did see a video of the incident.

July 23

An officer was dispatched to a local business for a male breaking things. The officer met with the highly intoxicated individual who aggressively came at the officer and pushed the officer. The male was taken to the ground where he was handcuffed. He was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on charges of Disorderly conduct, Criminal trespass/not posted, and Battery on a peace officer.

July 24

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Tierra Bonita for an irate juvenile. The officer met with the mother who said her son was breaking items in her residence and that he was angry because he was not allowed to go to his cousins’. Once inside, the officer noticed damage to the residence and was shown a video of the incident. The officer called juvenile probation and was advised the juvenile did not score high enough to be taken to a juvenile facility. The juvenile was released back to his mother.

An officer was dispatched at 8:45 p.m. to Otero Street for a male who was hit by a vehicle. At the scene, a male said his girlfriend hit him with her vehicle, but he did not want to pursue charges. The officer met with the female who said her boyfriend had broken her windshield. The officer advised her that she did try to hit her boyfriend and that the report would be sent to the District Attorney’s office.

An officer was dispatched at 9:49 p.m. to the 300 block of School of Mines Road where a man said his bicycle was stolen from his yard. He said a native male was in the area and thought that was the only person who could have taken his bike.

An officer was dispatched at 12:55 a.m. to a residence in the 400 block of School of Mines Road for a possible burglary. The officer was given a description of a male who was trying to break into a vehicle. The officer located the male, who fled. The officer chased him into an alley and stopped him, but he fled again. The officer was able to use a taser on him and place him into handcuffs. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on charges of Resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, Criminal Trespass/not posted, and an outstanding warrant.

An officer was dispatched at 11:08 a.m. to the Walmart parking lot for a larceny. The female victim said she was loading items into her vehicle and left her purse in a shopping cart. When she returned to the cart her purse was gone. The officer looked at the video of the incident and saw a male grab the purse and leave the area. The officer is trying to locate the male at time of report.

An officer was dispatched at 1:16 p.m. to a residence on Dencher Street for an unresponsive female. The officer was directed to a room in the residence and located a juvenile cold to the touch, with no pulse. EMTs arrived and advised the officer the female was deceased. An official with the Office of the Medical Investigator arrived and did not see any signs of foul play. A short time later Daniel’s Funeral Home took possession of the body. This case is still under investigation.

July 25

An officer was dispatched at 7:31 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Memory Lane where the reporting party found a small plastic bag with a blue pill inside in his yard. He said he did not know how it got there.
