July 25

An officer was dispatched at 11:01 p.m. to NE Frontage Road for a possible domestic where a male and female were arguing. The officer separated the male from the female. As the officer was escorting the male, he fled but was stopped and placed in handcuffs. Officer spoke with the female who said the incident was just an argument. The officer took both juveniles to the Socorro Police Department where the parents called. The parents picked up the juveniles.

An officer was dispatched at 9:49 p.m. to a residence on Gibson Circle for a male harassing a female. The officer knew the male had been charged twice before. A charge of criminal trespass was filed against the male.

An officer was called at 5 p.m. to Sofia’s Kitchen in reference to counterfeit money. The reporting person stated the suspect came into the restaurant to eat and attempted to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill. The suspect left the area in a vehicle. The officer located a vehicle matching the description and met with the suspect, who claimed he was provided with the bill by a family member.

An officer was called at 6:48 a.m. to John Brooks in reference to criminal damage to property. The reporting person showed the officer a video of the suspect letting the air out of one of his employee’s front tires. The officer met with the victim who stated they wanted to press charges on the suspect. The suspect was charged with criminal damage to property.

July 26

An officer was called to a residence on Bursum Place in reference to harassment. The reporting person stated he has had continuous problems with his neighbor harassing and threatening him and his wife. He said the neighbors were upset due to their dogs being taken by animal control. The officer then met with the neighbors who stated they have been getting harassed by the reporting person along with his wife threatening them.

An officer was dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifter who was caught coming into the store on two different days and shoplifting.

An officer was called at 3:35 p.m. to a home on Annette Avenue for a trespasser gaining entry to the residence. The officer arrived and checked the exterior of the residence and did not locate where the male could have entered. The owner provided officers with the keys to the residence. The suspect was still inside the home and was placed under arrest after a short struggle. The male was transported to SCDC where he was booked on burglary charges.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Lopezville Road for an unresponsive male. The officer arrived and called for the Office of Medical Investigator. OMI arrived for their investigation and later Daniels’s Funeral Home took possession of the body.

An officer was called at 7:29 p.m. to a residence on Center Street for a violation of a restraining order. The reporting person stated his uncle, the victim, left the scene due to the suspect yelling and getting into his face. The officer met with the victim who provided a restraining order, but it was expired. The victim stated he did not want the suspect on the property any longer and for him to be trespassed. The officer informed the victim he could not do that due to their mother allowing him onto the property.

An officer was called at 11:17 a.m. to the 400 block of School of Mines Road in reference to a theft. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated somebody had broken into a residence he was remodeling and taken items.

An officer was called at 2:10 p.m. to meet with a male in the lobby of the Socorro Police Department. The male stated he found clothing on his property that did not belong to him. He said he asked his girlfriend about the clothing and she believes a stalker from her past is stalking her again. He stated his girlfriend did not want to do anything about the incident.

July 27

An officer was called to the park on B Street in reference to a theft. The officer met with the victims who stated one of them had her cell phone in her purse and left it unattended. She stated she checked a short time later for her phone and was unable to locate it. The victim valued the phone at $200.

An officer was called at 12:21 a.m. to the 1200 block of Lemitar Lane for an unresponsive juvenile. The officer arrived and observed EMS attempting to wake the juvenile up in the back of the ambulance.

An officer was called at 11:01 a.m. to Dollar General in reference to a theft. Officer arrived and met with the victim who said he was starting to pay for his groceries when a male told him he dropped something. The victim stated he looked away from the counter where his money was and the male grabbed his money and left. A witness corroborated the victim’s statement. The officer located the suspect who admitted to taking the victim’s money but had already spent it on gas for his vehicle. He was charged with Larceny.

Officers were called at 3:01 p.m. to Walmart for a domestic and on arrival separated all individuals involved. An officer interviewed the male who stated he and his girlfriend got into an argument while in the store. He said she attempted to grab him while exiting the store. An officer interviewed the female who stated she got into an argument with her boyfriend while in the store and when exiting the store she struck at her boyfriend playfully. A witness stated she saw the argument but saw no physical contact.

July 28

An officer was asked at 6:46 p.m. to conduct a welfare check on a male in the 1200 block of Santa Fe Lane. Dispatch advised that the grandson of the male had an active warrant for his arrest. The officer checked the residence and made sure there was adequate care being given to the male. The grandson was placed under arrest and later medically cleared and was incarcerated at the SCDC on the warrant.

Officers were called to a residence on Sunset for a male on the property, who did not have permission to be there from the owner. The owner was contacted, and the male was removed. A charge of criminal trespassing was filed.

An officer was called to the Socorro Police Department to meet with individuals who wanted to make a report. The mother of the victim stated she would like to make a report on an incident that occurred the night before. The victim said she was parked at Clark Field when another female blocked her in and began arguing with her. The victim stated a physical fight between her and the suspect ensued.

An officer was patrolling in the vicinity of Texas and Hilltop and noticed a vehicle driving with no lights on. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop. The driver then parked and ran from the area. The officer was able to locate the suspect at a later date and the suspect admitted to fleeing from the officer. A charge of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer was filed against the suspect.

July 29

An officer was called to the 400 block of School of Mines Blvd. in reference to a residence being broken into. The victim stated when she arrived home she noticed items missing from her residence. The officer photographed damage to a window believed to be where the suspect entered the residence.

An officer spotted a male on West Place who needed to be questioned on a separate incident and read him his Miranda Rights. The male agreed to speak with the officer but did not give consent to be searched due to him having paraphernalia on him. The male handed the officer foil which contained narcotics. He was placed under arrest and booked on the charge of possession of a controlled substance.

An officer was called at 7:42 p.m. to a crash on Highway 60. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol earlier during the day. EMS transported the officer and the suspect to Socorro General Hospital where a blood draw was conducted on the suspect. The officer released the suspect to the hospital.

An officer was called at 10:08 p.m. to the 1100 block of California where a vehicle struck debris on the roadway. The reporting person stated she struck debris on the off-ramp of Interstate 25. The reporting person stated she wanted a report for insurance purposes. Officer checked the roadway and located multiple items.

An officer was called at 2:39 p.m. to Bodega Burger Co. where an employee needed to be removed. The officer was informed the female had left already. The officer was then called to the Socorro Police Department to meet with the female. She stated she was fired from her job today and claimed that while she was trying to clean out her office her boss entered and told her to leave and raised his hand as if he was going to strike her.

An officer was patrolling on State Route 1 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver kept going and eventually stopped at his residence. The driver exited his vehicle to approach the officer and was placed under arrest after a short struggle. He was transported to SCDC and booked on an outstanding warrant; Resisting, evading or obstructing an officer; Driving while license suspended or revoked; Expired registration; and no proof of insurance.

July 30

An officer was dispatched at 10:21 a.m. to a residence in the 200 block of Mustang for a domestic. The female said she was in an argument with her ex-boyfriend and that she was struck by him. She stated she struck him back three times. The officer was advised by the female she did not want to pursue charges. The ex-boyfriend claimed she struck him several times but he never hit her back.

An officer received a call for service at 10:42 a.m. to the 100 block of Abeyta for a dog incident. The complainant told the officer he witnessed a male walking by his house and throwing a piece of iron pipe at his fence attempting to strike his dog. The officer was shown video footage of the incident, but the male could not be identified at this time. The complainant said his dog was not injured but wanted the incident documented.

An officer was called to the Socorro Police Department to meet with a female wanting to make a report on damage to her vehicle that occurred at Spring and Highway 60. She stated her boyfriend got upset with her for talking with other friends and began striking her vehicle with a rock.

An officer was dispatched at 9:50 a.m. to John Brooks for embezzlement. The store manager said an employee had been caught taking money from the register. The manager handed the officer a note signed by the employee admitting to taking monies. The officer filed Embezzlement charges against the suspect.

An officer was dispatched at 7:42 a.m. to a residence in the 800 block of Duggins for a larceny. The male showed the officer where his vehicle had been pried open. The victim said a small amount of cash was taken from inside his vehicle.

An officer tried to stop a vehicle at 3:30 p.m. for a traffic infraction in the 200 block of Fifth Street. The vehicle fled for a short distance and at one point a female passenger jumped from the vehicle and fled. She was arrested a short distance away for several outstanding warrants. The male driver had a suspended/revoked driver’s license. Both male and female were incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on several charges, including resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, and possession of a controlled substance.

July 31

An officer met with a male at 11:39 a.m. who was trespassing at a residence on Spring Street. He was asked to leave several times and refused. He was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was dispatched at 8 p.m. to Forget Me Not Thrift Store for a possible break-in. The officer arrived and met with three individuals digging through a dumpster. The officer advised the suspects the dumpster had been locked. They were told to leave the area.
