Environmental Assessment For Public Review

The Bureau of Reclamation has released a draft environmental assessment on fish passage at San Acacia Diversion Dam for public review and comment. This project is designed to meet Reclamation’s commitments under the 2016 Biological Opinion on the Middle Rio Grande by allowing the endangered Rio Grande silvery minnow to move from downstream to upstream of the dam using a naturalized fishway. The passage would not disrupt irrigation diversions at the dam. The environmental assessment analyzes two alternatives and is available for a 30-day public comment period beginning on January 15, 2021. The draft environmental assessment is available for review at https://www.usbr.gov/uc/DocLibrary/index.html and comments may be submitted by e-mail to
