As a long time citizen of Socorro who appreciates our natural beauty, I just wish to state my disappointment at the billboard south of Albuquerque that seems to indicate Socorro welcomes OHVs. I just returned from Colorado where they are very popular with the out-of-staters. They are noisy, have no emission controls and tear up the landscape.
Is that really what we want for our town and surrounding areas? Many towns we went through are limiting them to in-town use only so they don’t interfere in the tranquility of their location.
Please if you agree, contact your city council or county commissioner and ask them to use some other way to have people enjoy our lovely area.
