Overall, Socorro was in second place as a team, with a score of 391.

At the Doña Ana Classic, the Warriors showed vast improvements from day 1 and shaved off 23 strokes and finished day two with a score of 360.

Isaiah Silva was Socorro’s top scorer with an 89-87 to finish 15th overall. All five Warrior golfers saw their day two scores improve. Luther Richardson (93-87) was 22nd, Andrew Handrich (96-93) 24th, Robinson Ford (105-93) and Ian Gonzales (109-99).

Socorro has a couple of challenging courses coming up that are sure to test golfers’ skills with a trip to the Leroy Gooch Invitational on April 3-4 in Ruidoso, the Seery Invitational at NM Tech in Socorro on April 10-11 and the 3A State Preview at Canyon Club at Four Hills in Albuquerque on April 17.

This year’s District 3-3A Championship is being held on May 1 at the Inn of the Mountain God in Ruidoso and the state 3A championship is set for May 8-9 at Canyon Club.
