Roughly 50 members of the Socorro community attended a Memorial Day Observance on Monday at Isidro Baca Park. Five community members, including state Senator Siah Correa Hemphill gave remarks, and Johannes Heynekamp on bagpipes was followed by the DAV Honor Guard which executed a rifle salute. Catherine Barella performed the Star-Spangled Banner and George Murillo played Taps.
