Jennifer Chapman has been hired to serve as the next Dean of Students at New Mexico Tech.

New Mexico Tech has hired Jennifer Chapman to serve as the next Dean of Students. Chapman brings a wealth of experience to the role and will be a great addition to the Tech community, according to Dr. David Greene, Vice President for Student Life and Chief Diversity Officer.

Chapman has served in multiple roles at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, including assistant director for recreational sports; assistant director of facilities, operations and event services; and for the past four years as the associate director for facilities, operations, and event services for the University Student Commons and Activities. Chapman also has served as an assistant athletic director at University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, and senior program director at the YMCA. Chapman is a veteran of the Army National Guard where she served for eight years.

Chapman received her bachelor’s degree in community health education from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, and a master’s degree in recreation and leisure studies from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.

Her first official day at New Mexico Tech will be July 18, 2022.
