A man was shot and killed on the Alamo Navajo Reservation on Tuesday, March 3, according to Socorro County Sheriff Lee Armijo. The case was handled by the Navajo Police Department, which has not released details about the incident.

Armijo said his deputies responded to the call but the investigation remained under Navajo Nation jurisdiction. “Even though my guys did respond, I’m not really sure what exactly happened,” he said.

The Navajo Police Department did not return requests for comment before the EDC deadline.

No additional information about the individuals involved or the circumstances of the shooting has been released.
