Patrick “Pat” L. Gonzales, age 51, beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away into God’s grace on October 29, 2021. Pat was born on August 20, 1970, in Socorro, NM, to Ernest Gonzales and Dorothy (Vallejos) Gonzales.
Pat was born into a very large and loving family. Throughout his childhood, he was known for helping his father maintain the Gonzales family farm, and could always be found fixing up and repainting his bike, famously named “The Falcon” by his big sister, Stefanie. When he wasn’t busy tinkering with and fixing things, he would spend his time visiting with his grandparents, Sefie and Ray Vallejos, whom he had a very close relationship with.
After adolescence, Pat attended school at Socorro High with all of his closest friends and family. In high school, he was known for his charm and quick wit, which carried on into his adult life. While at Socorro High, he spent most of his free time playing football or basketball, working at his father’s convenience store, “Uncle Ernie’s,” and attending concerts with his friends. In the coming years, Pat married his high school sweetheart, Roberta “Bobbi” (Rosas) Gonzales, on March 26, 1988, and together, they were blessed with their two children, Justin and Charlene “Charli” Gonzales.
After graduating from high school, Pat went on to start his career at Tripp’s Inc., casting jewelry, being a farmhand, and maintaining multiple commercial and residential properties. During his time at Tripp’s, he was an incredibly dedicated and driven employee who fostered lasting relationships with his coworkers and employers. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Pat got to experience his giving heart, helping hand, and clever sense of humor. He had many great qualities and talents that he shared with those around him.
He was an incredibly handyman who could fix just about anything, and he put nothing less than 100% into every job or project that he was tasked with. Some of Pat’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and going for long drives. Pat’s love for the great outdoors was passed down to his son, which created many opportunities for the two to bond and spend time together. Pat’s competitive nature also helped him coach, motivate, and encourage his daughter, who participated in numerous competitive sports throughout middle and high school.
Pat was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many in his community, and was held in the highest regard as someone who anyone could count on.
Pat is survived by his wife Bobbi Gonzales; son Justin and wife Krista Gonzales; daughter Charli and wife Sarah Gonzales; parents Ernest and Dorothy Gonzales; sister Stefanie Gonzales; granddaughters Peyton and Maisyn Gonzales; niece Ashley Greene and husband James; nephew Chance Towner and wife Kyle; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Raymond and Sefie Vallejos; grandparents Jose and Gina Gonzales; mother and father-in-law Leo and Charlene Rosas. Rosary and Mass are scheduled at the San Miguel Catholic Church with time and date pending. To view service information or leave a condolence, please visit www.danielsfuneral.com.
