Members of the Socorro wrestling team recently traveled to Bernalillo for the state wrestling tournament as the boys competed on Thursday with the girls on Saturday. 

Joel Partridge was Socorro’s only first-place finisher. 

Socorro Boys

106 pounds: Terrell Padilla, 4th place, 4.0 team points

  • Semifinal: John Roybal (Cobre) won by fall at 1:10 over Padilla
  • 3rd Place Match: Nico Ulibarri (West Las Vegas) won by fall at :20 over Padilla

113 pounds: Isaiah Ocampo, 4th place, 4.0 team points

  • Semifinal – Isaiah Garcia (Tucumcari) won by a 6–0 decision over Ocampo
  • 3rd Place Match – James Montoya (Robertson) won by a 3–1 decision over Ocampo
