Thomas Johnson

1945-2023

We are sad to announce the passing of Thomas J. Johnson of Socorro, N.M. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones on April 21, 2023 after a long battle with C.O.P.D.

Thomas was born on November 12, 1945 to John and Josephine.

Tom held many positions in his life. He was in the U.S. Army for 17 years, where he served abroad in Europe and as a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He also worked as a miner and in the food service industry, which he retired from as the head chef at Denny’s in Socorro.

His favorite role, however, was being a father. He enjoyed spending time with his adult children Mary (Greg) Blanck, Susan Lujan, Crystal (Alex) Ferrer and Ylona Unale. Tom also had many grandkids and great-grandkids.

Thomas Johnson will be interred at the Sante Fe National Cemetery.
