A regular local election was held Tuesday, Nov. 2. The following results are an unofficial tally of votes cast within Socorro County. There are 12 of 12 total voting locations that have been tallied. Results will not be official until they are canvassed and certified, and then accepted by the New Mexico Secretary of State.

Socorro

For Socorro City Councilor Ward 1 Damien Ocampo received 1,135 votes.

For Councilor Ward 2 James N Chavez received 500 votes, 36.71% and Mary Ann Chavez-Lopez received 862 votes, 63.29%.

For Councilor Ward 3, Michael Olguin Jr. received 1,074 votes.

For Council Ward 4. Stephanie L Saavedra received 634 votes, 45.51% and 759 votes, 54.49%, were cast for Peter Daniel Romero.

In the race for Socorro Municipal Judge Valentin Anaya received 356 votes, 25.65%, Joseph E Gutierrez received 723 votes, 52.09%, and Joseph M Gonzales received 309 votes, 22.26%.

For Socorro Consolidated School District Board Position 3 Sharon L Sessions received 977 votes, 53.77%, Reid B Grigg received 270 votes, 14.86%, and Rufino Lucero received 570 votes, 31.37%.

For School Board Position 4 Tara K Jaramillo received 979 votes, 54.03%, while Daniel James Chavez received 833 votes, 45.97%.

In the race for School Board Position 5 Pauline Jaramillo received 977 votes, 53.71%, and Stephen Edward Rosas received 842 votes, 46.29%.

Magdalena

Incumbent Richard John Rumpf received 69 votes for Magdalena Mayor.

Harvan Karen Conrad received 59 votes for Trustee Position 2. For Trustee Position 3, James C. Nelson received 59 votes. For Trustee Position 4, Clark D Brown received 70 votes.

For the Magdalena Municipal School District Board Position 1 Kelby Heath Stephens received 138 votes. For School Board Position 2 Mary Lynn Major received 157 votes.

Tax and bond questions

Socorro Consolidated Schools General Obligation Bond received 1,337 votes for, 77.15%, and 396 against, 22.85%.

There were 171 votes for, 83.01%, the Magdalena Municipal Schools District Capital Improvement Tax and 35 votes against, 16.99%.

Belen Consolidated Schools Tax Levy received 35 votes for and 16 against.

Carrizozo General Obligation School Board Question received 0 votes for and 2 against.

Mountainair Public Schools Capitol Improvement Tax received 2 votes for and 9 against.
