Former NFL players from the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers will be on hand for the two-day New Mexico Strong football camp at Socorro High School on April 15-16.

The Eventbrite camp is expected to feature former Cowboy Quincy Carter, the Bills’ Kwame Cavil, and the Oilers’ Rodrick Walker and coach Derrick Scott (University of Texas), who will help players work on their skills.

Campers can expect to focus on speed, agility, blocking and tackling techniques as they take part in offensive and defensive line challenges. Mental health awareness and discussions will also be a part of the program.

The camp will coincide with women’s and men’s coaching clinics.

Socorro assistant football coach Chris Boykin helped coordinate bringing the camp to town. For more information on the camp, text 505-309-9130.

Registration for the event is at 9 a.m. on April 15, and the camp will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day.

The camp (ages 7-18) costs $85 and includes an NFL camp shirt. The coaching clinics are $35 for women and $45 for men.
