Scotty Guerro and Katelyn Stockham earned a pair of state qualifications in addition to individual district titles, and Alamo Navajo’s boys and girls track teams finished third at the District 3-1A meet in Magdalena on Friday.
Stockham picked up gold in the 400-meter dash and was second in the 1600 meters. Guerro won the shot put and was second behind the Cougars’ Andy Pino (89-2.5) in the shot put with a heave of 87-2.5.
Sapphira Sandoval’s 1:14.95 time in the 400 meters won gold, and distance runner Pherrell was a double qualifier for state with second place finishes in the 1600 and 3200-meter races.
