May 24

An officer was patrolling on Sixth Street at 7:06 p.m. and spotted a male known to have an active warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested and transported to SCDC where he was booked on his warrant.

May 25

An officer was called to a residence in the 100 block of Abeyta in reference to an unknown suspect defecating and throwing the feces into the yard. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated he woke up and noticed feces on his wall and on his property. The victim reviewed security camera footage with the officer, but the male could not be identified. The victim stated he wanted a report on the incident.

An officer was dispatched on the report of a possible drunk driver. The officer was provided with the vehicle description and located it committing a traffic infraction at Spring and Grant streets. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer had the driver perform standard field sobriety tests. The driver was determined to be fit to drive. She gave the officer permission to search the vehicle, which turned up a glass pipe with narcotics along with a firearm. She was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where she was booked on the felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and the petty misdemeanor charge of failure to stop or yield intersection.

An officer was called at 9:16 p.m. to Fatima Road in reference to a male wanting to make a report on a battery. The victim stated the suspect arrived at his residence mad at him and demanded their children go with her. He said he allowed her to take their children but was also demanding their children’s shoes. He got the shoes for the suspect and while handing the shoes to her, she struck him in the face with a closed fist. The officer did not notice any signs of battery on the victim and attempted to contact the suspect but was unable to at time of report.

May 26

The animal control officer was called at 8:15 p.m. to the 500 block of Calle Bonita in reference to a dog bite. The reporting person stated he was walking his dog when another dog got out of a yard and attacked him. The officer informed the reporting person that he was going to cite the owners of the dog, but the reporting person did not like the way animal control was going to handle the incident and asked for another officer to speak with him. The officer arrived and met with the reporting person and informed him the incident would be handled the way the animal control officer explained. The reporting person still did not like the way the officers handled the incident and advised he would contact another agency. The animal control officer met with the owner of the other dog who said the reporting person was walking his dog without a leash and when they got close to their property the dog attempted to fight with their dog and the reporting person got in between the dogs fighting and that was how he was bitten. The owner of the dog showed officers a video of the incident.

An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of California Street for a single vehicle crash. The male driver male showed signs of intoxication and was asked to perform standard sobriety field tests. He refused to be tested. A check with NCIC showed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest as well as a suspended driver’s license. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

May 28

An officer was dispatched at 12:06 a.m. to a residence in the 400 block of Grant Street for a possible laceration to the neck. The officer arrived and met with the victim who was highly intoxicated and was not letting EMTs look at his laceration. The officer placed him in handcuffs and he was transported to Socorro General Hospital for medical attention. The case remained under investigation.

An officer was called to the 1200 block of Highway 60 where a female wanted to make a report of being sexually assaulted. She told the officer she did not want to make a report at that time but wanted to have a SANE exam done. The officer set up the SANE exam.

An officer met with a male on Highway 85 who had a possible warrant. His information was run through NCIC which showed he had a valid warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and incarcerated at SCDC.

An officer was dispatched at 6:18 p.m. to the 100 block of Grant for a trespasser. The officer met with three males. All were run through NCIC which showed one male had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and incarcerated at SCDC.
