LEGAL NOTICE

On Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 A.M., in a meeting at the Socorro County Annex, 198 Neel Socorro, NM 87801, the Board of County Commissioners of Socorro County will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of discussing the adoption of the Socorro County Solid Waste Ordinance 2021-04. The purpose of the ordinance is to provide for the collection, storage and disposal of solid waste; establishing and imposing a system of solid waste disposal fees and electronic card system, to prohibit the unlawful disposal and illegal dumping of solid waste, to provide for penalties, to allow the County to engage a contractor to provide solid waste services and enforcement and an effective date. The Board of County Commissioners may vote to adopt the Ordinance at the meeting following the public hearing.

Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available for the public to view free of charge online at www.socorrocounty.net or at the County Clerk’s Office or the County Manager’s Office, 201 Park Street, Socorro, NM. Copies of the proposed Ordinance may be purchased by the public from either office for $4:20. Written questions or comments to be considered at the public hearing will be accepted until 5:00 P.M. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Socorro County Manager’s Office.
