What a match! The Socorro Lady Warriors came back from being down 2-1 for a 3-2 win that avenged last year’s 3-2 loss to Magdalena. Socorro took a 25-18 first-set win, and the Steers won two straight 25-21 and 25-18. Socorro tied it up with a 25-16 fourth-set victory and escaped with a narrow 15-13 win in the final and deciding set. Mark Sept. 4 (6 p.m.) on your volleyball calendar because the Steers head to Socorro for what promises to be one of the season’s best matches.
