Rebecca Apodaca is an owner of multiple businesses who loves her community of Socorro.

What do you do for a living?

I am a graphic designer — that is my primary — but I also sell CBD and I am the owner of a candy shop.

What do you like most about Socorro?

How close the community is.

What do you like to do for fun in Socorro?

I like playing sports. I play softball, non-competitive basketball, but I play basketball and volleyball with my kids. We also enjoy riding our ATVs.

What is your favorite movie?

“La Bamba” and “Dirty Dancing.”

What’s something that you would like to change about the community in Socorro?

Maybe just see some growth. I would like to see more stores in town. It used to be a lot nicer, but there has been a decline.

What kind of music do you like?

My favorite is hip-hop, and then I like classic rock.

Who are your favorite artists?

On the classic rock side, I like AC/DC. For hip-hop, I would say Drake is up there.

Who is your hero?

My parents and my grandpa. They are my role models.
