After being named to the teams on March 12, Socorro County has six players headed to the 2023 New Mexico High School Coaches Associations All-Star basketball games.

The All-Star game will be a big switch for several players, with Socorro’s Marcus Armijo and Warrewn Chewiwi playing on opposite squads. The same holds for Magdalena’s D’Shaun Vinyard and Kael Stephens.

Alamo Navajo is sending Mathis Apachito, and Hailey Apachito, the only Socorro County girl selected.

The 1-2A boys and girls all-star games are on March 17 at 3 and 5 p.m. The boys’ 3-4A contest March 18 at 5 p.m. All games are at Gallup High School.
