The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

May 18

Officers were called at 1:51 p.m. to Magistrate Court in reference to a bomb threat. Officers cleared the building and did not locate any explosives. The call came from a deactivated cell phone that pinged at a location in Socorro. The officer located a male in the area and checked his phone call log. The officer listened to the recording of the call and recognized the voice and attempted to make contact with the suspect.

An officer was at 9:43 p.m. called to the 1200 block of Main Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim stated she was home when the suspect arrived and asked her to stay the night. She stated she allowed the suspect into the residence for the night, but when she woke up she noticed the suspect was gone, along with her vehicle. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen.

An officer was called at 8:50 p.m. to Supermart in reference to harassment. The officer met with the victim who stated she has had problems with the suspect who continues to harass her and has received threats from her. The officer advised her the incident would be documented. The officer was called back due to the suspect harassing the victim again. The officer arrived and separated the victim and the suspect and warned them to leave each other alone.

An officer was called at 9:46 a.m. to Yo Mama’s where a stolen vehicle was located. The officer arrived and checked the license plate with NCIC which confirmed the vehicle was reported as stolen. The vehicle was abandoned and unoccupied. It was towed from the scene and removed from NCIC.

An officer located an abandoned vehicle at 2:26 p.m. at B Street and Highway 85. The officer had the vehicle removed by a tow truck.

A suspect was contacted at 9:03 p.m. on a call for service on Tornillo. The suspect had a valid warrant in NCIC and was arrested. During a search at the jail, the suspect was found to be in possession of Suboxone strips. The officer filed charges.

May 19

An officer was called at 9:02 p.m. to the 600 block of Alta Vista in reference to a theft. At the scene, the victim stated his bike was taken between the hours of 5-7 p.m. The officer got a description of the bike and checked the area for tire tracks for the direction of travel. The bike was not located at time of report.

An officer was called at 5:09 a.m. to the 1100 block of Chaparral in reference to a burglary. The victim stated she noticed multiple items taken from her shed. She said she was away from the evening of May 14 until May 15 and believes that’s when the items were taken. The officer checked the shed and did not notice any signs of forced entry. The victim provided the officer with a list of all of the stolen items.

An officer was called at 11:36 p.m. to the 200 block of Fisher in reference to a theft. The victim stated he believes his laptop was stolen out of his vehicle. He believes the laptop was taken some time between November 20-30, 2021. He provided the officer with the information for the laptop.

An officer was called to RAKS in reference to shoplifting. The officer met with the reporting party who said the suspect was attempting to shoplift items and when store employees confronted the suspect, he attempted to run, which turned into a physical altercation. The officer interviewed the suspect who admitted to the attempted shoplifting.

A caller in the 400 block of Manzanares reported at 5:03 a.m. that he wanted to report his brother-in-law for hitting his child. He said he was informed by his child that the brother-in-law was hitting his son. The caller confronted the brother-in-law which turned into a fight between the two. The caller was advised an interview would be set up for the child. The officer met with the brother-in-law, who denied the allegations. An interview was scheduled for the child.

May 20

An officer was called at 8:14 p.m. to a business in the 400 block of California in reference to a theft. The victim said she was getting her purse from her vehicle when she noticed the suspect attempting to let the air out of her tires. She stated there was a physical altercation prior to the suspect leaving. The victim stated she checked her vehicle and noticed her purse missing. The officer located the suspect and questioned him. He denied taking the victim’s purse.

An officer was called to the 300 block of Faulkner where a vehicle was obstructing traffic. The officer met with a male at his residence who was having problems exiting his vehicle. The officer assisted him with exiting his vehicle and entering his home. Once inside, the officer noticed there was no food in the residence. The officer asked the male if he knew the date, and he did not know what day it was. He was transported by EMS to Socorro General Hospital and a report was forwarded to APS.

An officer was patrolling in the vicinity of West Place and Blue Canyon and noticed a vehicle parked on the sidewalk. The officer ran the New Mexico license plate and found the vehicle to be stolen. The vehicle was towed, and the officer contacted the registered owner and informed him of the vehicle being recovered.

Officer patrolling at 7:52 p.m. noticed a male on Gibson Circle with an active warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where he was booked on his warrant.

May 21

An officer was dispatched at 11:41 a.m. to a local business in reference to a shoplifting. While en route, the officer was given a vehicle description that had fled the area. When the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver fled. The vehicle finally stopped, and three males were detained. Two males were allowed to leave, but one male had several warrants for his arrest. The officer also located narcotics in the vehicle upon the vehicle inventory. Besides the warrants, the suspect was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and evading/resisting an officer, as well as no driver’s license, no auto insurance, and no registration. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was called at 5:10 p.m. to the 1000 block of Park Street where a bike was stolen. The reporting person stated her son’s bike was stolen from their yard. The officer was provided with a description of the bike.

May 22

An officer was dispatched at 8:12 p.m. to a residence in the 800 block of Spring Street for a damage to property report. The victim told the officer a male kicked his vehicle causing a dent. The officer met with the suspect who was uncooperative and when he was told he was under arrest, the male threw himself on the floor. The suspect was secured in the rear of a unit and taken to Socorro County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on the charges of criminal damage to property, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct.

An officer was dispatched at 6:01 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Second Street for a family dispute. The officer was advised by the reporting party that his brother was trying to fight with him, and he just wanted the incident documented.

An officer stopped a male on San Miguel at California Street at 7:58 p.m. known to have a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed through NCIC and he was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

May 23

An officer was called to a residence in the 500 block of Reservoir Road on a report of an unconscious female. The officer arrived and met with EMS who stated the female was deceased. The officer called for OMI who arrived and took possession of the body.

An officer was called at 5:52 p.m. to a residence in the 300 block of Fifth Street where a male wanted to make a report on damage to property. The reporting person stated some contractors were cleaning the property and placing items against the fence causing the bottom of the fence to bend.

May 24

An officer was patrolling in the vicinity of apartments on Bullock Avenue at 8:08 p.m. and noticed a male known to have an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was placed under arrest and transported him to SCDC where he was booked.

An officer was called at 9:42 a.m. to speak with a female wanting to make a report. The victim stated she was asked by the suspect to give him a ride. She stated she told the suspect that she was not going to give him a ride. The victim then stated the suspect sent her a message of a still shot from a video where he forced her to get naked while he recorded her. She said she wanted a report made on the incident.

An officer met with a person at the Socorro Police Department who wanted to make a report. The reporting person stated she believes her credit card was stolen and there is a charge on the account that she did not make. The reporting person said she wanted the incident documented.

An officer was called at 3:26 p.m. to the 1200 block of Sixth Street in reference to a large fight. The victim told the officer she was in a physical fight with a male, and that he was in a vehicle leaving the area. The officer stopped the vehicle and met with the suspect, who stated he was informed by his child of being bullied by the victim’s children. The suspect said when he arrived at the victim’s residence, she began yelling at him and trying to hit him. He denied hitting her. The officer met with the victim again who stated she was informed by her mother that the suspect was trying to fight with her son, and when she went to the area noticed the suspect yelling at her son. She stated the suspect punched her, but she was unable to hit him back. The officer met with the victim’s son who stated when he got off of the bus the suspect approached him and told his son to get out and fight him. The victim’s son said the suspect exited his vehicle and pushed him and threatened to fight him for picking on his son. A witness corroborated the victim’s son’s statement. The report was forwarded to the DA for staffing.

An officer was called at 9:09 a.m. to the 1100 block of California in reference to a fight. While en route, dispatch advised the officer of two females being pepper sprayed. The officer arrived and met with a deputy who said a female in a red van was involved in the incident. The officer was approached by the victim who said the female in the van had pepper sprayed her. The officer met with the suspect who stated she was test driving the vehicle and stopped at the 7-Eleven to get gas. When she was in the store, a female took the keys from her. As the officer was trying to speak with the suspect, she began to get hostile with him. After a short altercation, the female was placed under arrest. The officer met with the victim again who stated the suspect was test driving her vehicle but was taking a long time and she went to look for her. She said she finally located the suspect at the gas pump and tried to get the keys from her. The victim stated she was able to get the keys from her, but the suspect chased her into the store and pepper sprayed her and another female. The officer transported the suspect to SCDC where she was booked on the charges of resisting/evading an officer, battery, and possession of a controlled substance.
