Mariano Latasa Jr.

1940-2023

Our beloved Mariano Latasa Jr, age 82, died on August 28, 2023, in Socorro, NM, from lung cancer. He was born on November 17, 1940, on the Latasa ranch near Magdalena, NM.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son Richard Rey Latasa, his parents Mariano and Angelica Latasa, his brothers Augustine, Juan Francisco and Louis Latasa, sisters Rosemary and Teresa Latasa.

Mariano will be greatly missed by his wife Celia, his daughter Lia Marie and son Juan Francisco. His grandsons Joshua and Dominic Latasa, and granddaughter Charish Gonzalez as well as eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by many special friends, neighbors and his beloved dog Clive and cat Petra.

Rosary will be at 9:30 am and funeral mass to follow on Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Mary Magdalena Catholic Church in Magdalena, NM.

The family would like to thank all of our special relatives and friends who assisted us throughout Mariano’s illness.  You have been such a blessing, we are beyond grateful.
