Viviana “Vivi” T. Martinez

July 21, 1924 ~ May 29, 2023

On May 29, 2023, 98-year-old Vivi Trujeque Martinez passed away peacefully at home with her 3 granddaughters DeeDee, Angela & Victoria by her side.

Vivi was born July 21, 1924, to Conrado & Luisita Trujeque.  She was one of 4 children born to them in La Mesa, NM.

The family moved to Socorro after the flood in 1929.  Here, she met and married Miguel P. Martinez.  Together they had two beautiful children: Michael and Margie.

Vivi worked at Eagle Pitcher for many years.  Then she received her CNA and worked at Socorro General Hospital where she witnessed 2 of her grandchildren come into this world.

Vivi was a devoted Catholic to the San Miguel Catholic Mission.  She prayed nightly with her rosary for all her family and friends.  Vivi and Miguel were also the king and queen of the San Miguel Fiestas for their 50th wedding anniversary.  Vivi loved Don Juans frijoles.  She enjoyed going to Isleta Casino, doing cross word puzzles, and sewing.

Vivi was “Nana” to 6 grandchildren.  Her devoted granddaughter/caretaker Angela.  She is survived by her grandchildren: Michael A. “Tony” (Francine), Peter (Sandra), DeeDee (Brian), Angela (Charles), Victoria (Melisa), and Julie (Ken).  10 great grandchildren:  Anthony (Brooklyn), Myrannda, Jerrick, Angelo, Madisyn, Alisyn, Briana, Clint (Zaira), Andre, and Emily.  10 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Vivi is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, her children; Michael and Margie, her brother Ramon and sisters Nellie and Rosella, grandson Jose Javier, great granddaughter Adilynn and her favorite son-in-law Xavier.

Services for Vivi will be 6/8/2023 at San Miguel Catholic Church, Rosary at 9:30am; Mass at 10:00 am with burial following at San Pedro Cemetery, San Antonio.

Pallbearers are:

Anthony Dimas, Alejandro Espino, Jerrick Montoya, Angelo Montoya, and Theo Dimas.
