Socorro Electric Cooperative will be hosting its 76th annual membership meeting on Saturday, April 10. The meeting, normally held at Macey Center on the New Mexico Tech campus, will be held “virtually” which means “to be carried out by means of a computer.”

The co-op says the order of business will be in accordance with SEC Bylaws, including reports from the Board president, the treasurer’s report on the financial condition of SEC, and a report from the Credentials and Elections Committee.

According to a mailing by the SEC, “the Credentials and Elections Committee declared no election was necessary with only the incumbent Trustees from District 3 submitting their “Declaration of Candidacy” during the foiling period which started on the first of January and concluded on February 1. Therefore, as there was no opposition to these two SEC members Donald Wolberg and Leroy Anaya will be seated for a new three-year term on the board at the conclusion of the annual meeting.”

Scheduled for 3 p.m., on Saturday, Apr. 10, the meeting will be conducted using the Zoom meeting application. Members will be able to submit real-time questions throughout the meeting, using the chat feature on Zoom.

According to SEC’s website, “individuals wishing to provide member comments may do so via the Zoom app or by phone must sign up by contacting the co-op at [email protected] or by calling 575-835-0560 extension 1001, before 5 p.m. on April 9.”

The meeting will also be simulcast on YouTube, which is primarily for viewing.

The Zoom link will be posted on the Socorro Electric Cooperative’s website.
