Jose Ignacio and Marcella Garcia

1935-2022

Jose Ignacio “Nayo” Garcia, age 87, passed away at his home in Socorro, N.M. on March 25, 2022.

He was born in Alamillo, New Mexico on January 1, 1935, to Eduplido and Eloisa Griego. Nayo was a successful businessman and former Socorro Magistrate Judge.

He was active in the Democratic Party and the San Miguel Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Maria “Marcella” Garcia, parents, brother Johnny Garcia, and sisters Lala Fraissinet and Corine Santillanes. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Espidion Garcia, Sesaria “Chala” Peralta, Eddie Garcia and wife Adela, Frank Garcia and wife Gloria, and many nieces and nephews on the Garcia and Montoya side. Services will be held at a later date.
