With three games remaining in the regular season, the Lady Warriors softball team will look to add to its win total against Hatch Valley with a pair of road games before returning home on May 8 for Senior Night.
At 3-2 in District 3-3A, Socorro is in second place behind the state’s No. 1 team, Cobre (5-0). The Lady Warriors are 7-14 and have won three more games than last year.
One player who’s been making a significant impact is sophomore slugger Lilliana Maldonado. With a team-high .485 batting average and 16 runs knocked in, she’s been a force to reckon with. It’s worth noting that these impressive statistics are from just 13 contests.
The number 16 is sweet for Lady Warrior hitters, with Maldonado, Tatjana Castillio, Abrianne Romero, and Jada Paz all tied for the team lead with 16 hits.
The Lady Warriors’ final game on May 8 will start at 5 p.m., and Socorro will honor seniors Tristen Garcia, Andrea Ochoa, and Jadah Paz.
