The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

June 14

An officer was called to the 1100 block of California in reference to damage to a vehicle. The victim stated he was at McDonald’s last night and had an argument with the staff. He then parked at his hotel, and while doing so, he said he noticed multiple McDonald’s employees watching him park. A short time later, the Socorro Police Department arrived and advised him he was trespassed from the McDonald’s. He said when he woke up this morning, he noticed damage to his vehicle. The officer met with the manager of McDonald’s and was allowed to review security camera video. On the video, the officer observed the suspect walk up to the victim’s vehicle twice and scratch it. The manager provided the officer with the names of the suspects.

June 15

Officers were dispatched at 7:42 a.m. to a home on Avenida De Parajito in reference to suicidal comments. The officer knocked on the door several times and announced as being a police officer, but there was no response. The officer called a family member and asked if the individual had attempted suicide before, and the answer was yes. With this information, the officer contacted a supervisor who said the officers could enter the home due to the circumstances. The door was forced open and officers gained entry into the home. Officers found the victim in the bedroom breathing and tried to wake her, but she was unresponsive. An ambulance was summoned, and EMS arrived and transported her to Socorro General Hospital. Empty pill bottles were located by officers in the room. No further information at this time.

An officer was dispatched at 12:21 p.m. to McDonald’s on the claim of an assault. Upon arrival, the officer met with a woman sitting in her car and noticed fries scattered around. She stated she had gotten into an argument with a McDonald’s employee in the drive-thru over her food order not being correct in some way. She said she tossed the bag of food into the drive-thru window and the employee threw the food back at her. She said the bag thrown by the employee hit her in the face causing a very small red mark by her eye. The officer entered the McDonald’s and made contact with the female employee who was involved in the incident. The employee stated the woman in the car threw the bag of food at her through the drive-thru window, hitting her. The officer reviewed the security camera footage and observed the two women throwing the order at each other.

An officer was dispatched at 8:50 a.m. to Tractor Supply in reference to a shoplifting. The manager stated that yesterday at 6:30 p.m., two men came into the business and loaded up $2,000 of merchandise in two shopping carts. They then attempted to push the carts out the door without paying. On the security footage, the officer observed the men load the shopping carts and attempt to leave the store. An employee enters the video and appears to tell the two something, and they leave without the merchandise. The officer has not been able to identify two men at the time of the report.

An officer was dispatched at 9:54 a.m. to a residence on North Main Street in reference to hot sauce being thrown on a dog. The officer met with the reporting party, who stated her neighbor spilled hot sauce on her white Chihuahua puppy. The officer asked if she witnessed the neighbor commit the act, and she said she did not, but who else could it be? She told the officer there have been strange vehicles pulling up to her neighbor’s home in the middle of the night and no one ever getting out of the vehicle, and when she looks out of her kitchen window, they stare at her.

An officer was called at 2:28 p.m. to Best Western where someone was threatening people with a rock. The officer arrived and located the suspect, who was resistant. The officer arrested the suspect, who had the rock in his pocket. The suspect also resisted being placed in the patrol unit and was transported to SCDC, where he was booked on disorderly conduct and resisting.

June 16

An officer responded to a burglary complaint at 8:06 a.m. at a residence on Otero Avenue. The victim stated sometime between June 10-15, somebody forced entry into the home and stole several items. The officer was provided a list. The victim admitted she might have left a door unlocked.

An officer was dispatched at 11:56 p.m. to Harold Drive where gunshots were heard outside the home. The reporting party said he was asleep when he was abruptly awakened by a loud bang that he believed was a gunshot. When he went outside to see what was happening, he noticed a vehicle driving northbound on Chaparral towards the flood control. After patrolling the area, the officer returned to the residence to see if any damage had been done to the man’s home and found a broken door window. It appeared that a rock or hard object had been thrown through the glass. The damage is estimated to be around $250.

June 17

An officer was dispatched at 6 p.m. to a home on Neal Avenue to check on an individual who hadn’t been seen for a few days. The officer noticed a foul odor and made entry into the residence where a deceased male was located. The officer waited for OMI to respond. Daniel’s Funeral Home took the body.

An officer was dispatched at 10:27 a.m. to a breaking and entering in the 500 block of Reservoir Road. The officer met with a woman who said she had seen a man inside her home and saw him push an air conditioner out of a window. The officer was able to locate the man who was arrested and incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center, charged with breaking and entering and criminal damage to property.

An officer was dispatched at 10:56 a.m. to a residence on Eaton Avenue for a deceased individual. The officer arrived and located an elderly female who had no signs of life. The officer called OMI, and later the body was taken by Daniel’s Funeral Home.

June 18

An officer was dispatched at 10:24 a.m. to an apartment on Walkway for a report. The officer met with a man who said his child had tested positive for methamphetamines while with his grandmother, who had guardianship of his child. The officer said the child could stay with him until further notice. The officer called in a report to CYFD. A short time later, the grandfather arrived and tried to pick up the child. The officer told the grandfather that the child was staying with the father because the child had tested positive for methamphetamines.

An officer was dispatched at 1:10 p.m. to the rodeo arena for a fight. The officer met with a woman who said a man was talking about her flipping him off. A fight broke out, and punches were thrown. The officer then met with the man, who said he was yelled at by the woman. He said she approached him, and a fight broke out. The officer did see signs of battery on the man. The officer was able to interview several people who said they saw the couple arguing but did not see the fight.

An officer was dispatched at 5:52 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Blue Canyon Road where children were locked in a vehicle. The officer met with a woman and was able to open the door with a screwdriver. The children were not harmed during the incident.

June 20

An officer was dispatched at 8:16 a.m. to Adult Probation and Parole for a possible arrest. The staff informed the officer they issued an arrest order because the individual had violated his conditions of release by having pictures on his cell phone of firearms and using social media. He was transported to Socorro General Hospital where he refused a medical check, and then taken to Socorro County Detention Center.

Officers were dispatched at 5:07 p.m. to the 500 block of Bullock Avenue where a man and woman were arguing. The man had given the woman a ride and then gotten into an argument in the parking lot. The officer ran the man through NCIC, which showed he had a suspended/revoked driver’s license. He was taken into custody and booked in SCDC.

June 21

An officer was dispatched at 8:43 p.m. to Sedillo Park and met with a woman who said her car had been broken into while she was watching her son’s baseball game. She said that while loading the children in the car after the game, she noticed things in the vehicle were misplaced. Her purse, glove box and middle console had all been rummaged through, and her medication had been dumped from her purse. An unspecified amount of money, along with her depression medication, was gone. The vehicle had marks on the driver-side door where it appeared someone tried to pry it open, and the weather stripping on the passenger side between the front and rear door had been cut. No suspect time of the report.

An officer was called at 12:14 p.m. to an apartment in the 300 block of Otero Avenue for someone being threatened with a rock. The officer met with the victim who stated she was outside of her apartment when her neighbor walked by, yelling for her to stop stealing his mop. She stated she did not take his mop. The officer met with the neighbor, who said it was the other way around, that he was walking to his apartment when she confronted him. The officer told the neighbor not to contact the victim.

An officer was dispatched at 3:30 p.m. to assist with a man who had been in the street harassing vehicles in traffic and appeared to be on narcotics. Adult Probation and Parole informed the officer the man had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. He was arrested and taken to the hospital to be checked out.

June 23

An officer was dispatched at 8:17 a.m. to a residence on Honeysuckle Avenue for a dirt bike theft. The reporting party stated her Honda CR250 was in the back of her GMC pick-up truck overnight, and this morning her truck’s tailgate was down, and the dirt bike was missing. The bike was valued at $2,500. She said she might have heard something when her dog was barking around 4 a.m. but did not get up to check. A neighbor who had a security camera was not at home during the investigation. The reporting party contacted the officer later and said she asked her neighbor if he had seen anyone riding a red Honda dirt bike. The neighbor said yes, that he had seen his grandson riding one that morning. The juvenile’s mother confirmed that he had stolen the bike but had already returned it. The juvenile’s mother was instructed to bring her son to the Police Department in order to be interviewed about the theft. With his mother present, the juvenile was interviewed and admitted to stealing the dirt bike and being instructed by his grandfather and his mother to return the bike. The victim noticed damage to the rear and front fairings of the motorcycle, and photos were taken. She stated she would still like to pursue charges for the theft of her property and for damage to the bike.
