The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

June 29

An officer was called at 2:18 p.m. to Dollar General in reference to a trespasser. The officer arrived and was informed that the individual had already left. The officer was shown a video of the suspect shoplifting multiple clothing items. The suspect was not located at time of report.

An officer was called to the 200 block of Faulkner in reference to a juvenile wandering around. The officer recognized the juvenile and knew where the parents lived. The child was transported to his residence and released to his parents. The parents said the child learned how to unlock the deadbolt and unlock the door chain. They said they would keep a closer eye on the child.

June 30

An officer met with a female at 11:09 a.m. who reported that she received an email claiming to be from USPS about a package not being delivered. The reporting person was asked for her address, account information, and Social Security number. The reporting person provided the information.

An officer was called at 11:59 a.m. to the 500 block of Leroy Place in reference to a threat. The victim said the suspect arrived at her residence uninvited and when he was asked to leave, he threatened her. She stated she did not want to press charges, and just wanted to make a report. The officer met with the suspect who stated he did not threaten her.

July 1

An officer responded at 1:51 p.m. to Walmart for a shoplifting. The reporting person stated a male walked out of the store without paying. The officer recognized the suspect on the security camera video.

An officer was called at 10:47 p.m. to the 600 block of Mariposa in reference to a welfare check on an infant exposed to narcotics. The officer was provided with the test results for the child and met with the guardian. The officer informed the guardian the child was going to be removed due to the positive drug test. The officer had Casa De Luz transport the child who was placed in CYFD custody.

An officer was called to the 1000 block of Granada for a domestic. The victim stated her son is being aggressive toward her and her husband. The officer observed the suspect while in an aggressive stance close to the victim. The victim stated she felt threatened by his actions. The son was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where he was booked for assault.

July 2

An officer was called at 7:11 p.m. on the report of a burglary in the 800 block of Lucero. The victim stated his RV was broken into and multiple items were taken. The victim stated he was trying to get information on all of the items taken.

An officer was called at 7:17 p.m. to the 400 block of California in reference to stolen firearms. The victim stated she had multiple firearms taken from her residence and named a person she believes took them due to him having access to the residence the night prior. The victim was unable to provide serial numbers for the firearms.

An officer was called at 8:25 p.m. to a domestic at a residence in the 600 block of Gianera Street. The victim stated she had arrived home and the suspect was aggravated and waiting for her outside. She said the suspect was upset at her because she refused to cut his hair. The victim said she was giving her child a bath and had to lock the door due to the suspect being aggressive towards her. He then began kicking and pounding on the door. She said she walked out of the bathroom and took the child to the bedroom with the suspect continuing to argue. She said he stood in the doorway of the bedroom and was stopping her from exiting, but she was able to get into the hallway where the suspect continued trying to block her. When the suspect walked to the backyard she was able to get into her vehicle and lock the door, but he then walked up and began hitting the car window. She stated she did not want to press charges but wanted the incident documented. The victim and child were able to leave the residence.

An officer was called at 8:27 p.m. to the 300 block of Second Street in reference to dead goats. The reporting person said he had been out of town and when he returned he noticed two goats missing. He located the goats and believed them to be run over, but upon closer examination, the officer noticed what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the goats’ heads.

July 3

An officer was dispatched at 12:42 a.m. to the 500 block of Sixth Street on a possible shots fired call. While in the area, the officer was dispatched to a residence where two males were found deceased in the yard. The officer cleared the yard and the residence. Witnesses provided a description of a vehicle, possibly with the suspects inside and a BOLO for the vehicle was issued. The officer called for EMS but no signs of life were found on the two males. The officer called for supervisors and the incident was turned over to NM State Police.

July 4

An officer was called for a theft at a residence in the 800 block of Bursum. The victim stated her tile saw was taken from her front porch. She showed the officer a security camera video of two males taking her tile saw. The officer was able to identify both males in the video.

An officer was called at 8:54 p.m. to the 1400 block of Enterprise Road in reference to a fight. The officer met with two males with injuries. The two were separated and both said an argument turned into a physical fight, but neither wanted to press charges.

July 5

An officer was called at 8:32 a.m. to the 1400 block of W. Frontage Road scene in reference to damage to property. The reporting person stated his fence was cut and somebody entered the storage units on the property.

An officer was called at 5:52 p.m. to the 300 block of Fifth Street in reference to a male withholding property of another person. The officer met with two males. The victim stated the suspect became angry with him and struck him multiple times throughout the day. The suspect claimed the victim was withholding his keys. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into SCDC on the charge of domestic violence-battery.

An officer was called at 9:45 p.m. to the 300 block of Second Street where goats were attacked by a dog. The reporting person stated multiple goats were injured and one was deceased. The goats were valued at $300 each. The officer was not able to locate the dog.

An officer was dispatched at 9:47 p.m. to a vehicle crash in the 900 block of California. While en route the officer was advised a second vehicle left the area. The officer located that vehicle a short time later but did not find the driver.

A homeowner on Sunset reported damage to their fence. The victim said the estimated cost to repair it was around $100. No suspects at time of report.

July 6

An officer was called at 4:15 p.m. to the 1200 block of El Camino Real in reference to possible fraud. The reporting person stated she has been getting threatening text messages claiming to be from New Mexico Workforce Solutions. The officer advised her not to provide any information to the individuals.

An officer was called to the abandoned Sands Motel in reference to a possible unresponsive male. The officer located the male who appeared to be deceased and called EMS which confirmed the male to be deceased. OMI arrived and processed the male. Daniels Funeral Services arrived and took possession of the body.

July 7

Officers were summoned at 9:05 a.m. to the Chevron station in the 1000 block of California in reference to a male who had been inside the restroom for over 40 minutes. The officers asked the male to exit the restroom and he was identified. The victim who owns both Chevron stations asked the male to be trespassed from both stations. The officer advised him he was not allowed at either Chevron in town.

An officer was called at 10:54 a.m. to the 100 block of Abeyta in reference to a theft. The victim stated a tool bag was taken out of her vehicle while it was parked at the residence. The value of the tool bag was $200.

An officer called to the scene where shots fired were reported. The officer arrived and met with the manager who stated she possibly heard a gunshot but was unsure. The security camera video showed an altercation in the parking lot between two-to-three people. The officer observed a female remove a firearm from a vehicle and fire a shot into the air. One vehicle leaves south onto Interstate 25. The second leaves north on Highway 85. The officer located one of the vehicles involved and met with the victim who stated he was in a verbal argument when the female pulled out a firearm and fired one shot into the air, then left. The victim stated he did not want to press charges.

An officer was patrolling in the 1000 block of California and spotted a vehicle parked at the Chevron station. Officer ran the license plate through dispatch and was informed the vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was towed.

July 8

An officer was called at 6:03 a.m. to Econolodge where the victim stated a welder was taken out of his vehicle. The value of the welder was $5,000.

An officer called at 7:30 a.m. to the 500 block of Tierra Bonita on a vandalism report. The officer met with the victim who stated that earlier in the day he heard something outside and went out to check. He noticed a dent to his vehicle and the letter “A” carved into the paint.

An officer was called at 11:50 a.m. for a shoplifting at Dollar General. The reporting person stated a female entered the store and placed items into her cart and then walked out of the store without paying. The officer was unable to identify the female on video.

An officer patrolling on California pulled a vehicle over for a traffic infraction. Signs of impairment were noticed on the driver, who was asked to perform field sobriety tests. Once the tests were completed the officer placed the driver under arrest for aggravated driving while under the influence (BAC .16), suspended/revoked driver’s license, and no proof of insurance.

July 10

An officer was dispatched at 9:45 a.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Bagley for vandalism. A male at the residence showed the officer where his back windshield was smashed. The officer did see where someone had thrown a rock at the glass. The male said he did not know who could have damaged his vehicle.

An officer was dispatched at 10:53 a.m. to Best Western where a male reported several items missing from his vehicle. The officer was given a serial number for a handgun and camping items. The handgun was entered into NCIC as a stolen item. There were no cameras to capture the theft.

An officer met with a male at the West Place park at 11:27 a.m. for a possible larceny. The officer was speaking with him when he started emptying his bags. The officer noticed narcotics and arrested him for Possession of a controlled substance. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

July 11

An officer was called at 3:11 p.m. to the 1000 block of Granada to remove a male. The officer met with the reporting person who stated her son had been causing problems for her and her husband all day. She asked the officer to remove her son from the property. The officer spoke with the son and trespassed him from the property.

An officer was called at 6:04 p.m. to the 1200 block of Santa Fe Lane in reference to a dog attacking chickens. The reporting person stated her neighbor’s dog entered her chicken coop and attacked her chickens, but that none were killed. The officer located the dog and transported it to the animal shelter.

An officer was called at 11:12 p.m. to Nicholas Avenue in reference to a domestic. The officer met with a male who said he was at home when a juvenile knocked on his door worried about her parents fighting. He followed the juvenile to her residence where he heard her parents yelling at each other. He said the parents came to the door and stated everything was OK. The officer went to the residence and met with the male and female and saw that they were both highly intoxicated. They were asked to contact a relative to watch their children. A short time later the relative arrived and picked up the children.
