Terry Lopez Rivas

1940-2023

On July 24th, 2023, Mom’s work on earth was done. She got her wings and went to walk with the angels.

Terry was born on July 30, 1940, in Socorro, New Mexico, to the late Nep and Katie Lopez. She was the 2nd eldest of 6 children, Albert, Paul. Kathy, Nelly, and Edward. Terry graduated from Socorro High School where she excelled in academics and was a cheerleader.

Terry married Andy Rivas, in 1957, and two children were born from this union, Rick Rivas, and Peter Rivas. Six grandchildren, Peter Jr., Timothy, Celeste, Rhiana, Kyndall, and Maylin. Eight great grandchildren, Reighlyn, Emily, Mason, Maevry, Jericho, Jacob, Jarette, and Judah. Andy’s brother Michael was like a son to Terry. Michele, Lucille, and Tammy were like daughters she never had. Terry was raised Catholic where she served as Eucharistic minister at several parishes. Terry worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools, for over 30 years and at the United Way of Central NM. She enjoyed helping others and the community. She was a very supportive wife, mother, sister, and friend and always made herself available for her advice and help when needed or called on.

Service will be Saturday August 19, 2023; Rosary at 9:30 am, Mass at 10 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorro, NM.

Arrangements are being handled by Daniels Family Funeral Service Socorro.
