Thomas Gerard Tarwater

1959-2023

Thomas Gerard Tarwater, 63, of Oskaloosa, Kansas, and Veguita, died July 1, 2023, in Oskaloosa after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born November 23, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Thomas Herman and Elise Gallagher Tarwater.

Tom graduated from Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1976. He worked as a skilled tradesman owning and operating his own roofing and carpentry business.

He was a former member of the Queen Of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overland Park, Kansas.

Survivors include one son, Daniel (Amanda) Tarwater from Oskaloosa; one sister, Kathy Curry, from Lenexa, Kansas; and a brother Tim Tarwater,  from Overland Park.

Cremation with private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice and sent in care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa,  KS 66066.
