Motown in Magdalena

Magdalena elementary students delighted their audience with their high energy performance of the Sweet Sounds of Motown performance on Thursday. Families packed the gym to watch the final product of the six-day National Dance Institute of New Mexico program that gives students an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of movement, music and teaches the importance of discipline, focus, effort and teamwork.

“My favorite part is watching the show come together. Each grade level has learned and practiced their own routine, but to watch all the dances culminate into a performance makes me so proud,” Shannon Mounyo, NDI in-school coordinator said, “I heard comments from parents and community members that it was the best performance we’ve had in a few years.”
