New Mexico State Police is asking for any information related to the Socorro shooting on California Street and B Street near the Circle K on Oct. 31. In a press release they stated that the Socorro Police Department responded to a call at around 11 p.m. reporting that an individual was having verbal and physical disputes with customers and employees and at least one shot was fired.

According to the press release investigators “found the individual who reportedly had been arguing with customers and clerks, in his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. After being shot, the victim appears to have crashed his car into a light pole near Circle K. The shooter suspect(s) had already fled the scene in a white sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital and airlifted to a trauma center. His condition and extent of injury are not known. No other injuries were reported.”

The investigation is preliminary, and many details are under investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau at (575) 382-2500.
