Dorothy Ruth Strickland Brook

1925-2023

Dorothy Ruth Strickland Brook was born in El Paso, Texas on April 25,1925 and died on January 30, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Dr. Marx Brook; her son, Harris Brook; her parents, Ruth Steven Strickland and Thomas Benton Strickland; and her brothers, Jim and Richard.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Janet Vallese Brook, James Lee Brook, Georgia Lynn Tomei-Raymond, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

“What a Life!” as Dorothy accomplished so much in her 97 years. She was always a teacher and mentored so many in this community with her volunteer work and her major love of being involved with the Socorro Library, the Animal Shelter and the Animal Protective Association of Socorro (APAS).
