Dec. 7

An officer was dispatched to take a fraud report at a residence in the 600 block of Miller Avenue. The officer met with a female who said she gave her computer to a male who claimed to work for Nusenda. She said he could have accessed all of her information. The officer called the numbers given none of the numbers were in service.

An officer was patrolling at 10:10 p.m. and pulled a vehicle over at Sixth and Wal Street for a brake light not working. As the driver provided his information, the officer noticed a female in the passenger seat known to have an active warrant for her arrest. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Socorro County Detention Center.

Dec. 8

An officer was patrolling at 10:09 p.m. on Highway 85 and noticed a vehicle driving aggressively. The officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The officer found that the vehicle had crashed into a fence, and the driver had fled on foot. The officer was able to locate mail in the vehicle belonging to the female owner of the car. The officer went to the residence and spoke with a male, who stated the car was given to another female and provided the address. Officers went to the other address and met with a female, who stated her ex-boyfriend took the vehicle without her permission, and she wanted to report the car stolen.

An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Central in reference to a female requesting to speak to an officer regarding a missing package. The victim told the officer she had a notification from FedEx that her package was delivered to the residence around 1 p.m. She discovered her package was not at the spot where the company left it. The value of the package was around $56.

Dec. 9

An officer was patrolling at 6:52 p.m. and stopped a male known to have a warrant for his arrest walking at California and College. The warrant was confirmed, and during a search pursuant to arrest, the officer located a small amount of narcotics. The male was transported to SCDC, where he was booked on his warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

Dec. 10

Officers were called at 12:22 a.m. to the west side of the Bureau of Geology on Bullock to assist another agency with a combative male. The officers were informed the male needed to be removed from the vehicle and placed in handcuffs. The officers opened the door and after a short altercation with the male, he was placed in handcuffs.

An officer was called at 8:27 a.m. to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. The reporting person stated the two females at the self-checkout arrived at the store with an empty bag and now it had merchandise in it. They also informed the officer of a male that fled the store in a stolen jacket. The officer met with the females and asked how they got to the store. The females answered that they drove there and showed the officer the vehicle. The officer located a male in the vehicle, and he was detained. After getting permission to search the vehicle, the officer found a jacket with narcotics in it where the male was sitting. The male admitted to the jacket being his, and he was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where he was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and shoplifting.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Spring Street in reference to a burglary. The victim said the suspect broke a window to get inside. While the officer was speaking with him, another officer observed the suspect running. Officers were able to take the male into custody after a short altercation. The suspect was transported to SCDC, where he was booked on charges of breaking and entering, burglary, and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

An officer at the Socorro Police Department was informed of an altercation happening between two females in the parking lot. One female stated the other pulled a firearm on her. The officer met with the second female, who said she did not own a firearm. She was informed her vehicle will be sealed pending a search warrant. She then admitted to having a firearm in her vehicle and allowed officers to search it. Two firearms were found in the vehicle. The second female said she was driving, when she noticed the first female begin to follow her. She stated she made a U-turn and noticed the first female brandishing a firearm. The second female said she was in fear for her life, so she drove to the Socorro Police Department. The officer met with the first female again, who allowed the officer to retrieve two firearms from her vehicle. The first female stated she was attempting to confront the second female due to her talking badly about her daughter on social media. The first female stated the second female began arguing with her. The officer contacted the District Attorney’s office and was advised to arrest both females. Both were placed under arrest and transported to SCDC and booked on their charges of aggravated assault.

An officer was called at 6:03 p.m. to the 700 block of Neel Street for a dog bite. The victim stated he and his wife were walking when a dog ran out of a yard and bit him on the leg. He showed the officer the injury to his leg. The officer met with the owner of the dog, who said she was present when the incident occurred. The owner also promised to pay for the medical expenses to treat his injuries.

Dec. 11

An officer was called at 7:20 p.m. to Walmart in reference to females in the restroom consuming narcotics. The officer arrived and met with the reporting person who said the females had already left the restroom. The officer located them and trespassed both from the store.

An officer was called to the 1000 block of Cuba Road, where a female reported her daughter’s license plate was stolen.

An officer was called to Walmart for found narcotics. The officer met with the reporting person, who said she found pills in one of the aisles in the store. The officer took possession of the pills and placed them into evidence for destruction.

An officer was called at 6:25 p.m. to the 1100 block of Chaparral in reference to a landlord wanting to file a report. She said she was arriving home when her neighbor’s dog charged at her grandson. She stated the owner then ran out of his residence with a BB gun. She said she wanted the incident documented.

Dec. 12

An officer called in reference to a male attempting to steal a truck. The officer arrived in the area and located the male at a business. The male was placed under arrest. He said all he was doing was attempting to get a ride back to Albuquerque. The officer met with the victim, who said she was delivering a package, when he entered her vehicle and attempted to drive away. When he was unable to drive it, he exited the vehicle. The male was transported to SCDC and booked on the charge of attempting to commit unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

An officer was called at 2:57 p.m. to Walmart and met with the victim, who stated she lost her phone that also had multiple bank cards and her NM ID with it. She said there were multiple transactions made on multiple bank cards. She informed the officer of a transaction at Dollar General. The officer observed the video and was able to notice the suspect using the bank card in the store.

An officer was called to remove individuals from a residence. The officer met with the reporting person who stated she would like her grandson’s friends removed from the home. The officer met with the grandson and informed the friends they had to leave. The officer had prior knowledge of one of the males as having an active warrant for his arrest. The officer placed him under arrest and transported him to SCDC where he was booked.

An officer was called to the Conoco station in reference to harassment. The officer met with the reporting person, who stated her daughter is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend. She requested a report on the incident.

An officer was called at 11:11 a.m. to Walmart in reference to a theft. The officer met with the victim, who stated she was unloading groceries into her vehicle when somebody took her purse out of the cart. The officer observed the video but was unable to identify the suspect.

Dec. 13

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Chaparral Drive for a report. At the scene, a male told the officer he drove to his nephew’s residence to speak with him. When the nephew came out of the residence, he was holding a handgun by his side. The male said he did not want to file charges but wanted a report.

An officer was dispatched at 5:53 p.m. to a residence in the 700 block of Mariposa for damage to a vehicle. The officer was advised of two separate occasions of her door handles being damaged. No items were taken from the vehicle. Officers did check through the night.

An officer was dispatched at 11:03 p.m. to Walmart for a battery report. The male victim stated he was struck by another male. The officer spoke with another male, the suspect, who said he was threatened several times by the victim. The suspect said that the victim threatened to shoot him, so he punched him in the face several times. The suspect was charged with battery and assault.

Dec. 14

An officer was called to the 1000 block of Cuba Road in reference to a trespasser. The officer met with the victim, who stated she hired the suspect to do yard work for her. She said the suspect did not do a good job on the yard work, so she paid him and asked him not to return. She said the suspect returned multiple times asking for money and was back again today but took off running when she walked outside. He was charged with criminal trespass/not posted.

An officer at the police station was contacted by the reporting person and was informed of a case the officer was working on with the suspect. The reporting person stated the suspect’s child tested positive for multiple narcotics. The reporting person stated the child was now with the mother out of town. The suspect was charged with child abuse.
