The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

June 7

An officer was dispatched at 8 p.m. to the area of Otero and Main in reference to an older model Camry which had been reported as stolen and was possibly being driven by an individual who was reported as missing. The car was pulled over near the train depot and the driver exited the driver’s seat, grabbing a gas can. The officer informed him that he may have been reported as a missing person, and that the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen. He stated he was not missing and that the car was his friend’s and was not stolen. A check with NCIC confirmed the vehicle had been reported as stolen and the suspect was arrested, handcuffed, and secured in the back seat of the patrol car. While conducting a tow inventory of the vehicle, the officer discovered a blue pill with the marks “30” on one side and “M” on the other, identifying it as Fentanyl. A check of his information showed him not to be missing but did show him to have a suspended/revoked driver’s license with an arrest clause. He was transported to Socorro General Hospital for medical clearance and booked into Socorro County Detention Center on his charges.

An officer was called at 10:39 p.m. to the 1100 block of Chaparral in reference to a man exposing himself to children. The officer met with the reporting person, who informed the officer the man was right outside her home and was masturbating while looking at her daughters through the window. The officer located the suspect and detained him. The reporting person identified him as the suspect. The officer arrested the male and transported him to SCDC, where he was booked on his charges.

June 8

An officer was called at 8:54 p.m. to meet with a distraught woman at the police station in reference to being harassed. The victim stated she was chased around town by the suspect and the suspect’s daughter. She explained that she had an affair with the suspect’s husband, which was the reason for her being chased. She said she was at Walmart when she spotted the suspect’s vehicle. She went home, and when she walked out of her residence the suspect’s daughter was in her driveway playing basketball. When the victim told the daughter she had to leave, she picked up a brick and threw it at her vehicle, hitting the windshield. The victim stated she attempted to call 911, but the phones were down, so she began driving to the Police Department and on the way, the suspect followed her and tried to cut her off multiple times.

An officer was called at 12:20 p.m. to a residence on Tierra Bonita for a domestic disturbance and, on arrival, had to separate the parties. The officer met with the suspect, who was complaining of being bitten by the victim. He said he was getting ready when the victim approached him and began arguing. He said he was attempting to retrieve his property when the argument turned physical and the victim started pushing and scratching him. The officer then questioned the victim, who said the altercation started when she offered to make the suspect lunch, and he began yelling at her. She then locked herself in the bedroom while the suspect continued yelling and throwing items. She said he entered the bedroom by breaking down the bathroom door and pushed her to the ground, trying to strangle her. The victim said she bit the suspect on the arm to make him stop strangling her. The officer did notice red marks on the victim’s neck. The officer placed the suspect under arrest and transported him to SCDC, where he was booked on the charges of domestic violence-battery and criminal destruction of property.

June 9

An officer was called at 8:53 p.m. to 7-Eleven, where the caller reported a woman in the bathroom using narcotics. The female left prior to the officer’s arrival, but her name was given to the officer. The officer attempted to locate her but was unable to.

An officer was called at 6:32 p.m. to a residence on Miller Place in reference to property damage. The officer met with the victim, who explained that his ex-girlfriend was supposed to meet him later in the evening but showed up intoxicated and beating on his front door. When he didn’t open it, she went over to a window and began beating on it until it broke. He stated he then walked out and attempted to restrain the suspect, but she started kicking and screaming. The victim said she then got up and ran to her vehicle, and fled the area. The victim stated he did not want to pursue charges and did not want to provide the officer with her information.

An officer located a woman suspected of using narcotics at 9:09 p.m. in the bathroom of a business at Sixth and Wal Street. The officer attempted to detain the woman, but she tried to run. The officer was able to get her to the ground and place her into handcuffs. She continued to resist and stated she needed an ambulance. The female was trespassed from the business and released to the ambulance.

An officer was called at 8:03 p.m. to NW Frontage Road, where the reporting person stated she was driving when she heard her window break. She said she turned her car around, and she met with a man who was weed-whacking on the side of the road. The man admitted he was weed-whacking when she was driving by. He apologized to her, and she requested a report be filed on the incident.

June 12

An officer called at 4:47 p.m. to a trailer in the 1100 block of Chaparral Drive in reference to a theft. The victim stated the suspect had been living in the residence for the last six months while she was not living there. When the suspect moved out, she noticed the locks changed, multiple items missing, and damage to the inside of the residence. The victim stated she did not want the suspect back on the property.

An officer was called at 6:12 a.m. to the 500 block of Second Street for a domestic. The victim stated she was at her boyfriend’s residence packing up her property because she was moving out. She was standing next to her vehicle when the suspect began yelling at her, so she jumped in her car to distance herself from him. The suspect then got into the passenger seat and grabbed hold of her, and began threatening her. She gave the key to him and he pulled her out of the driver’s seat and drove off in her vehicle. The victim stated her aunt picked up her and her grandkids. They searched and were able to locate the vehicle. When the suspect noticed her, he drove the car into her aunt’s vehicle, which her grandchildren also occupied. The suspect then left, still driving the victim’s car. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen and an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect. Charges of domestic violence (assault aggravated), unlawful taking of vehicle, aggravated battery (deadly weapon), robbery, and child abuse.

An officer was dispatched at 6:29 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Second Street in reference to stolen property. The victim stated someone broke into his detached garage through an unlocked window and stole a Skilsaw from its case. The Skilsaw was valued at $150. The officer canvassed the area and did not locate any security cameras—no further information at this time.

June 13

An officer was dispatched at 9:43 a.m. to a residence in the 300 block of Church Street where a man was threatening city workers. The reporting party stated they were fixing a gas line that was accidentally damaged while they were digging the sidewalk in front of the residence. He said a man at the home came out aggressively and threatened to shoot the heavy equipment operator in the face. The suspect was no longer there for questioning. The victim did not want to press charges at this time.

June 14

An officer was called at noon Tractor Supply for an altercation between two women. The officer met with the victim who stated the suspect came into the store with some luggage. The suspect was told to leave the luggage near the front door which made her upset, and she went to buy a drink with an EBT card. When told the store did not accept EBT cards, the suspect exited the store and threatened to damage the victim’s car with a hammer. The officer located the suspect in the area, and she was arrested. She kicked the officer multiple times and was transported to SCDC and booked on charges of resisting an officer, battery on a peace officer, and assault.

An officer was advised by dispatch at 1:30 p.m. to speak with the owner of San Miguel Pottery Land in reference to stolen property. The officer made contact with the victim telephonically. The victim said he was currently on vacation, and at about 1:07 a.m., he got a notification from the video cameras at his business. He reviewed the video, which showed an unknown individual with a face mask taking one of his neon UFO lights. He said the individual came back into the frame with the mask down, but he could not identify the individual. He said he had also posted the video to the Socorro Safety Watch Facebook page. The cost of the stolen item is $75.

An officer was called at 8:39 p.m. to the 700 block of California Street in reference to an ambulance being called to the scene. The officer met with the victim, who stated he had been attempting to locate his girlfriend’s niece. He said that when he found her, he took her to a friend’s house nearby to talk her into going home because she did not want to go home. He said that while speaking with her, the suspect arrived and attacked him. He was able to get up and begin running, but the suspect chased him and began hitting him again. The officer spoke with the suspect, who denied hitting the victim. The suspect stated he received a call from a man saying his stepdaughter was at his residence. The suspect said he arrived at the place and found his stepdaughter there with the victim and a few other men who were smoking narcotics. He said his stepdaughter then ran off. The victim’s father provided the officer with hospital discharge paperwork stating the victim sustained a broken nose and cheekbone. The officer was provided with a video of the incident. In the video, the officer observed the suspect arriving at the residence and striking the victim’s vehicle with his car. The suspect exits his vehicle and runs toward a vehicle parked in the yard. The victim exits the vehicle and starts to run, but the suspect chases the victim, tackling him to the ground and begins punching and kicking him.

An officer was called at 1:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Faulkner Road, where property was damaged. The victim told the officer she was gone for a while and when she returned home, the front door was kicked in. She said she did not notice any items missing from her residence. The home has cameras but they were not working at the time.
