Leah Wills

1933-2022

Leah E. (Jaramillo) Wills, 89 years young, gained her angel wings on November 29, 2022.

She was born in Socorro, N.M., on March 23 or 24, 1933 (not sure because her beloved mother said the 23rd, but her birth certificate says the 24th). Leah was the third child of eight of the late John and Flora Jaramillo of Socorro and was the widow of the late Joe R. Wills, to whom she was married for 36 years. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

The couple had three children, Debbie Wills Kaufman, the late Joe R. Wills II and Richard Wills, and as of this date, 28 grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, which are too many to name, but she loved them all enormously.

Leah is also survived by her sisters, Gloria Casey and Corina Taylor and a brother, Andy Jaramillo. She has now joined her siblings Tony Jaramillo, Isabel Montoya, Loraine Woodard and Frank Jaramillo. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, who she loved enormously. Each and every one! And friends by the dozens.

Leah was a hairdresser for over 50 years. She, along with her sister Gloria and brother Andy, owned and worked at Hairmates.

She was a devout Catholic her entire life and so loved her church.

Services were held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and an 11 a.m. mass at San Miguel Church. Our beloved mother Leah was then buried at San Miguel Cemetery.
