DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
for the Water Control
Plan for Operation of Abiquiu Dam,
Rio Arriba County,
New Mexico

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Albuquerque District, has posted a “Draft Environmental Assessment for the Water Control Plan for Operation of Abiquiu Dam, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico” on the district website. The Draft Environmental Assessment evaluates changes to the Abiquiu Water Control Plan to allow storage of Rio Grande system water and San Juan Chama water up to elevation 6230 ft NGVD29.

Public review of the Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) begins on September 25th, 2023, and comments are requested to be received no later than October 25th, 2023. The document will be available on the Corps web site at: https://www.spa.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental/
Environmental-Compliance-Documents/Environmental-Assessments-FONSI/. An electronic copy will be sent upon receipt of an email request to the address below.
