The following items were taken from reports at the Socorro Police Department

June 1

An officer was called to Cassity Place for a theft. The officer arrived and met with the victim, who stated when she walked out of her residence this morning she noticed items missing from her yard. The victim said the stuff was in the yard when she went to bed last night.

An officer picked up a man at 7-Eleven at 1:20 p.m. for a warrant out of District Court. Upon searching him, officers found a blue pill identified as fentanyl wrapped in foil. After being medically cleared, he was transported to Socorro County Detention Center for booking.

An officer was dispatched at 2:02 p.m. to meet with a man wanting to make a report. The individual said he has been in contact with a man about renting a house on Faulkner Road. He said he paid him $1,050 towards the deposit and first month’s rent. He said he believes the individual does not have the authority to rent the property to him. He told the officer the individual was asking for more money for other fees but not giving him the key to the residence. He showed the officer messages sent between him and the other man and will forward screenshots of the messages to the officer for review.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Tierra Bonita for a woman who had several lacerations. The officer met with the woman who said she was stabbed by her boyfriend. She explained that she told him she no longer wanted to party with her him, so he got mad and said he was going to kill her. He stabbed her three times before she was able to leave the residence and call police. EMTs were called, and she was transported to Socorro General Hospital. The officer was allowed inside by a man and observed blood all over the residence. The officer cleared the residence and called for a search warrant. A supervisor was called to help with the investigation. A suspect who ran was detained by the supervisor. After a search of the residence, the officer took the suspect to Socorro General Hospital for medical clearance then he was incarcerated at SCDC.

An officer was dispatched at 2:14 p.m. to Sixth Street for a suicidal woman. She was taken to Socorro General Hospital, and while there, the officer was informed she was wanted for a warrant. After being medically cleared, she was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

An officer was called at 12:15 p.m. to the 500 block of Otero for a theft. The reporting person stated the night prior, somebody had taken multiple air conditioners from the property along with two wheelbarrows. The reporting person said the suspect cut the fence and entered the property. The total value of all items taken was $1,519.96.

June 2

An officer was called to Puerto Seguro in reference to a stolen firearm. The officer met with the victim who said he believed the suspect took the gun from the door pocket of his vehicle. He stated he had given this person rides in the past. The victim did not have a serial number for the firearm.

An officer was dispatched at 6:53 p.m. to California Street for a man who had taken a bicycle. On arrival, the officer noticed a man running from juveniles and detained him. The juveniles explained that the suspect had taken the bike, but they were able to catch up to him to try and take it back. While trying to take the bike, the man pushed the juvenile. The officer arrested him and charged him with aggravated battery (injury), larceny and robbery.

June 3

An officer was dispatched at 6 p.m. to a trailer on Fatima to remove a suspicious person. The officer found he had a valid warrant for his arrest and was placed into handcuffs. He was searched and found to be in possession of controlled substances. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center on his charges.

An officer was dispatched at 10:57 p.m. to Sixth and Wal Street for a traffic crash where a vehicle had fled the scene. The officer was able to follow a path of fluids left by the car and pulled it over a short time later. The driver showed signs of intoxication and refused to perform standard field sobriety tests. EMTs were called but the suspect refused medical treatment. He was transported to Socorro Police Department, where he gave two breath samples with results of .14 and .13. He was incarcerated at Socorro County Detention Center.

June 5

An officer was informed of a woman on Chaparral wanting to make a report. The reporting person stated her daughters were playing outside, and when she went to check on them, she noticed a man masturbating. She said she was unsure of his name or race.

An officer was called at 4:53 p.m. to Walmart in reference to a man who ran out of the store after taking someone else’s money. The officer began looking through the area but could not locate the suspect. The officer met with the victim, who said he was arranging to send money to a friend and put his money on the counter. The suspect ducked around him, grabbed the money and ran out of the store. The officer watched the video and observed the suspect walk into the store, grab the money, and run out. The suspect was charged with larceny.

An officer was called at 4:01 p.m. to the 1600 block of El Camino Real to meet with a man wanting to make a report. The reporting person stated he had a complaint about the company laying the fiber optics. He said the fiber optics company removed gravel from his driveway and replaced it with sand, and now he gets stuck in his wheelchair. The reporting person stated he wanted a report on the incident.

An officer was called at 5:39 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Alta Vista in reference to a burglary. The reporting person explained she has been watching the residence for her boyfriend and when she arrived today, she noticed the front door to be unlocked and the back door to be open, and a window broken. She noticed items missing from the residence but is unsure of everything taken and needs to speak with her boyfriend. She provided video footage from inside the home, but the officer was unable to identify the suspect. The value of all items taken was $1153.16.

An officer was called at 6:49 p.m. to Hilton Place in reference to stolen property. The victim stated she left her residence for approximately an hour and when she returned she noticed items in her front yard missing. She does not have any cameras.

An officer was called at 11:35 a.m. to the scene in reference to the theft of a catalytic converter. The reporting person stated when he started up his delivery truck, he noticed it to be louder than usual, then saw the catalytic converter missing. The damage was approximately $1,000. The officer attempted to check surrounding businesses for video.

An officer was dispatched to John Brooks in reference to a man who had been trespassed multiple times and was seen leaving in a blue Chevy van heading north on California Street. The officer located the van in Walmart’s parking lot and made contact with the male passenger. A check with NCIC came back with three warrants out of Magistrate Court. The driver of the van was also run through NCIC and had two valid warrants for his arrest. They were transported to Socorro County Detention Center, where they were incarcerated.

June 6

An officer was called at 12:17 p.m. to a trailer on Fatima for a domestic. The officer arrived and was informed of the suspect running from the area. The suspect was located and detained. A search of his person turned up narcotics. The officer transported the suspect back to the area and met with the victim, who stated he began arguing with her due to his believing she was cheating on him. She said the argument escalated, and the suspect started throwing items at her. He then punched her multiple times and attempted to strangle her multiple times. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to SCDC where he was booked on the charges of domestic violence-aggravated-battery, false imprisonment, and possession of controlled substances.

An officer was dispatched at 2:06 p.m. to a residence on McCutcheon for battery. The officer met with a man who said he was battered by a woman while in his vehicle. The officer met with the woman, who said she exchanged words with him but did not batter him. The man said he did not want the pursue any charges.
