Paced by Jorianne Mirabal defending her state pole bending championship, three Magdalena rodeo athletes have qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals after their season performances in New Mexico.

Mirabal was joined by Jake Chase, the state runner-up in the saddle bronc riding, and Allen Jones, who finished the standings in fourth in the saddle bronc.

Mia Castagnetto had a strong finish, made the short-round in barrels, and finished seventh overall.

The 2023 National Finals High School Rodeo is set for July 16-22 in Gillette, Wyoming.
